I recently and sadly have to report that a well known Albuquerque pet dog has died a day ago, it's Rucca... The dog that discovered a human bone in Albuquerque's West Mess area died. I also remember how a pet dog in Texas brought home a human skull that ended up being U.S. Marshals Top 15er and THE HUNT fugitive Kevin Stoeser. Does anyone on this site/forum have any other stories or examples of dogs as well as other pets that have helped fight crime or discover remains of a murder victim or even the remains of a bad guy? www.google.com/amp/s/www.koat.com/amp/article/dog-that-discovered-first-bone-in-west-mesa-murder-investigation-dies/36662088

Not entirely the same but I know at least pets serve as emotional support animals (ESA) for those who have been the victims of violent crimes. There's also programs where prison inmates are given puppies to raise socialize and train for disabled people or even take on cats deemed otherwise unadoptable to learn responsibility and hopefully make them well enough to be adopted. www.mentalfloss.com/article/80699/8-prison-animal-programs
