Photo Credit: nbc3lv.com via LVMPD) From NBC 3 Las Vegas (nbc3lv.com): LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police held a press conference Monday afternoon to provide a "significant update" on the investigation into an unidentified boy's murder, who has been dubbed "John "Little Zion" Doe. Investigators said they were able to identify the child as 7-year-old Liam Husted, after a tip that was received by San Jose police. Detectives and forensic scientists were able match DNA from articles in San Jose. Liam was last seen in the San Jose area on May 24. A family friend reported that she had not seen the mother, 35-year-old Samantha Moreno Rodriguez or Liam in two weeks. Police believe Samantha and the boy left San Jose on May 24th, driving a 2007 dark blue Dodge Caliber with California license plate 6WLH211., packed with belongings. They were in Laguna Beach on May 26, then Victorville, CA the same day. Liam was discovered on May 28. On the 29th, the vehicle was spotted near Grand Junction, CO. The last time anyone knew where Samantha's location was in a Denver area hotel. Police have issued a nationwide arrest warrant for Samantha Moreno Rodriguez. The father of Liam is not suspected in this case. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact Las Vegas Metropolitan Police or call CrimeStoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.news3lv.com/news/local/lvmpd-significant-update-john-little-zion-doe-homicide-06-07-2021Thoughts? This is a breaking news national media manhunt so we know Moreno Rodriguez was still at large at least as of today's posting date (June 7th, 2021). I am also placing Moreno Rodriguez in the Fugitives on TV section since Little Zion John Doe's has been a national news story that we had been previously covered back when Liam was still unidentified. We gave Liam his name back but now we have to get justice for him as well. It's absolutely atrocious and sickening his own mother could not only only alleged murder him but leave him out in the desert like discarded trash as well. She needs to face justice if proven guilty in a court of law. amwfans.com previous coverage: amwfans.com/thread/11592/little-zion-john-nevada-identified?page=1&scrollTo=49952 Admin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

I’m glad Liam has been identified, sad about the circumstances about his death, and like I said in the previous thread she’s efed up.
The sighting in Denver gives her a 1 week head start, even without the sighting, it basically gives her 2 weeks of a head start.
I hope she didn’t make it from from Denver within this past week, but in a week she could’ve also gotten further away, or even used Denver as a way to throw authorities off too.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but technically speaking every capture is a bittersweet capture, every case is a tragedy even if the fugitive is caught as it doesn't bring the victim back and/or erase the trauma for victims who survived, for me it's a matter of getting justice and hoping to prevent future tragedies by catching these people before they can strike again.
This case was especially tragic though and I hope Liam gets justice if Moreno Rodriguez is found guilty in a court of law.

Not that she couldn’t have killed herself out of guilt, but it’s one again another example of how female fugitives always seem to get the benefit of the doubt- I consider myself a male feminist for the most part- but the amount of times people like to come up with excuses when females commit crimes is nauseating. They take a child without custody and it’s “but she’s the mother” and they shoot and kill the husband and it’s “he must have been abusing her!”
