JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Law enforcement in eastern North Carolina is looking for a suspected killer after a woman called 911 and told dispatchers that her ex-boyfriend shot her roommate to death early Wednesday morning.
Deputies, detectives and crime scene investigators with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on Gregory Fork Road in Richlands and found the victim dead from a single gunshot wound. Detectives have identified the victim as 36-year-old Juan Lopez Lopez.
The witness told investigators that her ex-boyfriend broke into the home and was confronted by the victim before shooting him. The suspect is identified as Eduardo Samual Bamaca-Domingo, 37, Jacksonville. Bamaca-Domingo is described as a Hispanic male, 5'5", 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
Lopez's sister, Magdalena said she his shocked, heartbroken and can't believe this happened in front of her niece. She said she got the call at 6:30 a.m. that her brother had been shot and the mobile home park. Officials said Lopez’s six-year-old daughter was one of two children inside the home during the shooting.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Office has not released a motive in the shooting, and Magdalena Lopez said she doesn't understand why someone would want to kill her brother.
"He's a good person," she said. "He's a nice brother... He's only my brother."
In the meantime, Lopez said she does have her brother's daughter with her, but she won't feel safe again until Bamaca-Domingo is caught.
After the shooting, officials said Bamaca-Domingo drove away in a gray or silver Mazda-3, four-door with North Carolina registration TAW-6135.
Bamaca-Domingo is wanted on one open count of murder, and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on Bamaca-Damingo’s whereabouts to please contact their local law enforcement. Bamaca-Domingo is considered armed and dangerous.
