 (Above photo credit: Denvergov.org) Heber Godoy is wanted by the Denver Police Department for the murder of Alfredo Gonzales. On May 29, 2009, Gonzales and a colleague were working as security guards at a nightclub when they had to remove disorderly patrons. A fight then broke out in the parking lot when investigators say the guards were struck by gunfire. They were rushed to a local hospital but tragically, Gonzales died from his injuries. The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for 21-year old Heber Godoy. Sadly, this just happened to be Gonzales's first shift. Thoughts? This is a very tragic story and really shows how dangerous the work of a security guard can be. At one point, Godoy was named Denver's Most Wanted fugitive so they understandably really want to find him. This is a case I already knew about that I had in my database and was considering adding myself. Nothing wrong with you posting it though, especially since one of the things I found when Googling the case was your old CNN ireport  The reason I never added him was because I couldn't find any confirmation he is still wanted. The most recent article is from 2011 I think. I assume he is since one would figure he would be a high-profile capture that would make the news if he was- at one point- Denver's #1 Most Wanted futivie. So yeah, he just seemed like a brash, young punk at the time, so he likely fled to Mexico. |

He's still listed on the Denver Police Department Most Wanted website, so I'm pretty certain he's still wanted.

I think I looked at that site and they stopped adding guys wanted after the year 2009. So I wasn't sure how current they updated it. But like I said, I guess it's safe to assume he's a fugitive until proven otherwise, so thank you for not being like me and taking the risk. |

Now there is no online listing at all on the Denver government website. However, as far as I can tell, Godoy is still at large as of this update (7/28/2018), since I haven't found anything online suggesting otherwise. If anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates one way or the other, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
