KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
The FBI is stepping in to help the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department locate a woman charged with an August 2020 homicide.
The FBI is asking for help to find 45-year-old KaShawn Nicola Roper.
Roper was charged in September with second-degree murder, fight from perpetration of a felony, armed criminal action (two counts) and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the Aug. 23 death of Jazmyn Henrion.
Henrion was reportedly in a car with several other people when someone opened fire on the vehicle near 68th Street and Cleveland Avenue early that morning. The driver of the car rushed to a local hospital where Henrion was pronounced dead. One other person was also injured in the shooting.
Roper, who also goes by KaShawn Nicola Shaw, KaShawn Nicole Roper, KaShawn Nicole Shaw, and other similar spellings, hasn't been seen since. Police asked for help locating her in January to no avail.
Roper is from the Kansas City, Missouri, area, but the FBI said she also has ties to Kansas, and may have fled to Denver, Colorado.
She is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, pierced ears and tattoos on her left arm, upper left arm, upper right arm, back, left calf, neck, right wrist, right breast and abdomen.
Billboards seeking information on Roper's whereabouts were also placed at six different locations across the Kansas City area by the FBI's Kansas City Division.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to immediately contact law enforcement. She should be considered armed and dangerous.
