OLNEY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have identified a person of interest in the murder of a pregnant woman and her baby in Olney. 25-year-old Markese Martin of Godfrey Avenue is being sought in connection to the September 24th deadly shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 12:54 a.m. on the 1600 block of West Nedro Street. Police arrived to find 25-year-old Jasmine Williams, who was 8 months pregnant, and her 26-year-old fiance lying on the sidewalk. Williams had been shot in the head, arm and both legs. The man was hit in the back and leg. Officers rushed both of them to Einstein Medical Center, where Williams was pronounced dead. Doctors did an emergency delivery of a baby girl and worked for an hour to try to save the infant, but in the end she did not survive. Meanwhile, Martin is wanted in connection to another deadly shooting near a Hunting Park Popeye's Chicken restaurant. This shooting occurred around 4:00 p.m. on September 3rd along the 4200 block of North Broad Street. The victim, 42-year-old Kenneth Woods, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Woods was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 20-year-old Megan Jones of Blue Bell, Pa. and 26-year-old Kord Rozier of Philadelphia have been arrested and charged in Woods' murder. Homicide Investigators issued a warrant for Martin on Friday. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Martin's whereabouts, should contact the Homicide Fugitive Squad at 215-686-3068, 215-686-3334 or call 911. Pardon my french, but WTF is going on in Philadelphia? This is the THIRD breaking news case we've had this month in the Philadelphia metro area, and the second involving the death of an unborn child. Counting that unborn child, it means Martin is a suspect in at least three murders so far. I've been to Philly a few times, and it's aesthetically a beautiful looking city. But the amount of crime residents have had to put up with lately is unacceptable. Lots of cities Baltimore, Detroit, etc have crime problems. But the recent murders in Philadelphia are HORRIBLE and some involve unborn children. And the one that doesn't involve unborn children is one of the most savage and brutal non-AMW related cases this forum has ever seen. I hope Martin, Guisherd, and Tam Le are caught. But violence in general lately in the city is the larger issue at hand in my opinion. If I lived in Philly, I'd probably be demanding press conferences to address what's been going on lately.

Since his capture poster is listed before Tam Min Le, should we assume that Martin was arrested sometime in January? Anyway, one very horrible fugitive has now been arrested. If found guilty and convicted I would have no issue with Pennsylvania giving Martin a death sentence.

I'd say that's a good guestimate. Pretty good start to the new year for Philadelphia!

He was 2nd to Gilberto Juarez-Hernandez as my most wanted post-AMW fugitive of the 2nd half of '014, so this capture is a huge deal!

Ok. The capture/killing of Devon Guisherd inspired me to dig further down and figure out the mystery of where fellow ex-Philadelphia fugitive Martin was captured. And we now have our answer: 2/10/2015 on a fugitive from justice charge in Dekalb County, Georgia. We can all edit our 2014 Most Wanted lists appropriately now. arre.st/GA-1000988775
