From pamplinmedia.com:
A Portland woman is wanted by police in Hillsboro after she allegedly hit an officer with a car door as he was attempting to arrest her Saturday morning, Feb. 6.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says Hillsboro officers identified a car parked near Old Navy at 11175 N.E. Evergreen Parkway, at Tanasbourne Town Center, as one that had been reported stolen in Portland in January. They attempted to remove the woman in the driver's seat from the parked vehicle to place her under arrest, the Sheriff's Office said.
The suspect, Linsey Gail Perry, allegedly backed up with her driver's door open. The open door struck a Hillsboro police officer, the Sheriff's Office said, adding that the officer was "smashed against a parked car, and thrown into the air."
Body-worn camera footage shared by the Sheriff's Office partially shows the collision. An officer can be heard shouting "stop" as the officer is carried along the pavement by the open car door, before the suspect vehicle drives off.
The officer was hospitalized after the incident. He has since been released and is expected to make a full recovery, the Sheriff's Office said.
The stolen car was found abandoned in Beaverton later that day, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office said it took over the investigation at the request of the Hillsboro Police Department, "to avoid any potential conflict of interest" because Perry is accused of assaulting a Hillsboro police officer.
Perry, 37, is currently facing several charges in Multnomah County, including assault and arson.
Perry remains at large as of Wednesday evening, Feb. 10. The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about her location or the case to call 503-846-2700.
