Of AMW's short-lived Lifetime (and up until this year) final season in 2012- perhaps it's most infamous capture(s) was that of Errol and Tonya Victor.
Errol and Tonya were wanted out of St. John's the Baptist Parish in Louisiana. Errol allegedly beat Tonya's 8-year-old son, ML Lloyd III so severely as punishment for stealing an ice cream sandwich he wound up dying while Tonya allegedly stood watching and did nothing to stop it. Errol Victor and Tonya would be caught by AMW viewers in Tifton, Georgia literally hours after their airing and hours after they called the AMW hotline to complain about how they were portrayed. Errol was convicted and given a life sentence while Tonya was also convicted for her alleged inaction and sentenced to 21 years.
Apparently Errol's sentence was vacated by the Supreme Court last year- but mainly because literally every sentence in Louisiana that was not a unanimous decision by a jury had to be vacated. Errol was convicted on a 10-2 count, which had previously been allowed in the state.
Now Errol is running for a congressional seat while awaiting a retrial/new trial.
This is nuts to me as in my opinion Errol is nothing but a conman.
I don't fault his sentence being vacated as it wasn't a thinking he was innocent decision but rather an unfortunate technicality, the fact that it wasn't a unanimous verdict when he was crazy enough to represent himself in court is also quite shocking to me. Quite frankly pulling off a non-unaminous conviction as a non-attorney is a minor miracle if you ask me.
I also understand he's technically legally able to run only because he needs to be re-convicted and he's not expected to win, but this to me is yet another mind game that this lifetime conman that claims to be a pastor is playing on the public.
I hope he loses badly both in politics and in the courtroom.
