VICKSBURG, Miss. —
One of three men wounded in a Vicksburg shooting has died and the suspect in the case remained at large as of Friday, police said.
The shooting was reported about 11 p.m. Tuesday at LD's Kitchen on Mulberry Street, the publication reported.
The shooting stemmed from an altercation with a security guard, Chief Milton Moore told the Vicksburg Daily News.
Wade Carter, 31, was flown in critical condition to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Police said Carter, who had been shot twice in the abdomen, died Friday.
Police said the injuries the other two people suffered were not believed to be life-threatening.
"As of now, LD's Bar and Lounge will remain shut down," Mayor George Flaggs Jr. said in a news release.
Police are searching for James Earl Winters, 29, in connection with the case. Anyone with information about Winters' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
