ADMIN NOTE #1: Wanted posters above are mostly accurate except as of September 14th, 2014, Secundino is 32 years old, while Palomino is 37. Please call either the Chicago FBI field office or Chicago PD numbers in the above pictures if you have any information on the whereabouts of Secundino and/or Palomino.Bullets Ring In The Chicago New YearPolice in Chicago are on the hunt for two men they say are known drug dealers, now accused of being killers. Fernando Palomino and Eric Secundino are the main suspects in a New Year's Day triple homicide in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. A third suspect is in Chicago Police custody. Cops say that the dangerous duo, along with accomplice Michael Sanchez, duct taped and shot four people in the head in a drug deal gone bad. Police say that the three victims who died were not suspected of being involved in the drug deal. The fourth victim survived but remains in critical condition. Many Aliases And Many CarsCops say that Palomino and Secundino escaped the scene in a maroon Ford Expedition with temporary plates. That truck was recovered a week later in Chicago. Secundino is also known to drive a black, 1993 Lincoln Town Car limousine with temporary Illinois plates, 961 H182. Cops say Secundino is a member of the Spanish Cobras street gang, and Palomino has many aliases including "Fernando Vargas" and "Tony Vasquez." A few more notes: -According to the FBI release description: Secundino and Palomino did the shooting after going to a Chicago apartment looking to sell cocaine and being told by the occupants they had no money. -According to AMW.COM archives, Secundino was aired on January 19th, 2008 on AMW while Palomino is listed as a web-exclusive. Not sure if it was only Secundino, but I am assuming it was a breaking news alert. -In September 2009 Chicago police say they learned that Secundino's girlfriend was getting ready to fly to Arizona to be with him, because he is the father of her child. -The last solid lead agents had on Palomino was just a few days after the shooting. It was cell phone call he made to his girlfriend in Chicago. That call came from Laredo, Texas. Thoughts? I can't believe how little attention there is in this case. I either wasn't even aware of it or it was in the back of my memory since I did watch AMW in 2008. This is a TRIPLE homicide that could have been a quadruple homicide. The victims, and they were victims, they didn't deserve what happened to them, were duct taped and shot. There seems to be such a lack of media attention, I'm still not sure whether Secundino's first name is spelled Eric or Erick. The FBI spells it Eric while Chicago PD spells it Erick. Obviously, that's the least important part of this story in the grand scheme of things. Both Secundino's and Palomino's last solid leads were in the states, Arizona and Texas, ironically both involving a girlfriend. But considering both Arizona and Texas are border states, either or could be in Mexico by now. web.archive.org/web/20070811114916/http://www.amw.com/fugitives/case.cfm?id=52329www.fbi.gov/chicago/press-releases/2010/cg030210.htmwww.myfoxchicago.com/story/24076175/chicagos-most-wanted-eric-secundinowww.myfoxchicago.com/story/17850654/chicagos-most-wanted-fernando-palominoAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

What bothers me even more with the lack of coverage given to this case by AMW is that the show did two episodes focused on Chicago after Eric and Fernando went on the run, and they weren't included in either one of them. With all the focus on Chicago's street violence problems in recent years, a quadruple shooting of four innocent people that left three of them dead, really needs far more attention. They're both probably in Mexico by now and there's a good chance that they've since hooked up with drug cartels, considering how extremely violent they are.

According to AMW's profile, the four weren't even involved in the drug deal.
And assuming for argument's sake they were involved in drugs I'll use the Thayne Smika/Sid Wells murder case as an example, that it still isn't an excuse to commit cold-blooded murder.

P.S. I also realized the irony that Jan 1, 2008 is when Yaser Said killed his two daughters. It seemed to be a particularly violent New Year's in 2008.

I don't have any significant updates just wanted to mention those posters are a bit old by now. I'm assuming as of this posting date (12/15/2017), Secundino would probably be like early-mid 30's, while Palomino would be more mid 30's.

As of today, December 10, 2020, there are still active UFAP warrants in PACER for Eric Secundino and Fernando Palomino. This currently gives us a resource to confirm that both of these men are still at large. In addition, the names of the victims who were killed are 43-year old Martha Ortega, 27-year old Jose Bravo and 36-year old Jose Soberanis-Radilla. www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2008-01-08-0801070451-story.html

I really hope the FBI will one day publicize the manhunt for Secundino and Palomino again. There are a lot of cases they aren't actively publicizing, including those out of the greater Chicago area. You and all the other families need not only justice, but to know that people care about your family's case and to know that it is not forgotten. If you wish to get their assistance with advocacy and support, feel free to submit Martha and Jose's case to the non-profit group, Project: Cold Case. They are based out of Jacksonville, Florida, and assist families with dealing with the loss of an unsolved cases, as well as support families on getting their cases publicized. Please do know that they do not investigate cases and that they also do not have a TV show. I work with them through social media as a free service to the organization. Let me provide you their information for contacting them and submitting this case if you are interested. - www.projectcoldcase.org/case-submission/- www.facebook.com/ProjectcoldcaseHeadMartshal

Although we are only a fan page for cases shown on America's Most Wanted and have no technical connection with law enforcement, for what it's worth, I will put the manhunt for Secundino and Palomino on the front page of this forum this weekend as fugitives of the week for the week of April 4th-10th, 2021. Hopefully that will put some added attention towards getting justice for your parents. I would also suggest contacting the FBI field office in Chicago via phone or email and ask them what is going on with Jose and Martha's case. Stay on top of them, suggest they add Secundino and Palomino to the FBI website, etc... I think your case also had the unfortunate timing of happening on the same day Yaser Said killed his daughters and eventually made the top ten list. It was such a high-publicity case, I feel like your case unfortunately got lost in the background because it happened the same day, despite it being just as bad. I'm relieved Yaser is caught and he was my personal most wanted fugitive, but you need justice as well. I hope the front page heading (I'll do that this Sunday) will help a little.

I can't find both discussion threads for the forumwide Dirty Dozen list, so I'm saying this now. These guys are at the top of my list, in the context of how John Walsh would talk about specific, particularly notorious or disgusting cases in various interviews between AMW episodes. If a vacancy clears up, and gods-forbid progress isn't made in this case, I want to add them next, despite how few details we know about the crime. I want us to succeed where other publications failed in giving this case the spotlight it deserves.

Here are the links to the forum dirty dozen and personal most wanted threads which can also be found in off-topic discussion: amwfans.com/thread/7343/amw-fans-dirty-dozenamwfans.com/thread/4/personal-dirty-dozenGetting back on topic, I agree this is a severely underrated case, and it's quite frustrating soberanis has had to wait so long for justice when it seems like it's known these two are somewhere in Mexico, but it's still taking forever to arrest them and send them back.

Hi sobreanis, Every Sunday we select a new case of the week to continue hoping to get justice in other cases and honor other case requests, but I did want to provide a screen grab of when we had Secundino and Palomino on the front page just in case you didn't see it:
