KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is searching for a suspect after a deadly double shooting late Thursday night.
They are looking for Nasario Martinez-Maciel, 23, in connection with the crime. Officers say he may be driving a tan 1997 Toyota Camry with tinted windows, a different colored panel on the front driver's side and no license plates.
Police said officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Norledge Avenue just before 10:45 p.m. Thursday to investigate a reported shooting inside a home.
Witnesses told investigators that they heard gunshots then saw a man and woman shot inside a home.
Both victims were rushed to an area hospital for treatment. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, the woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police identified the man as Raidel Chavez-Chavez, 44.
Witnesses said they believe the suspect is a man who had been living with them. He reportedly fled the scene after the shooting.
Police said the relationship between those who were living in the house is unknown at this time.
Detectives are working to learn more about the individuals in the home and what led up to this incident. This shooting remains under investigation.
