A website known as boxing.com uploaded an article a couple days ago that features an interview with Pedro Estrada, a former FBI Top Tenner and AMW's 73rd capture. While I don't really condone giving criminals publicity, the interview is actually really fascinating. Estrada admits he worked for a heroin trafficker, but denies he ever killed anyone. He said he was at the apartment where two murders and an attempted murder happened, but said he left before the crime took place. Apparently Estrada had a really crazy post-capture life. He was acquitted of a number of murders he was originally charged with, and was convicted of two murders and one attempted murder. He's now 50 years old and is apparently a model inmate. He spends most of his time in the prison's law library reading books. Also, check out his new mugshot; he's undergone a drastic transformation since his capture. His beard is now just a goatee, and he is completely bald (whether it's a shaved head or he lost it naturally is unclear). It doesn't even look like the same guy! Kind of makes you wonder what guys like David James Roberts look like now. www.boxing.com/americas_most_wanted_pedro_estrada.html

Is Estrada telling the truth? Who knows. I usually let the law handle that and right now he's convicted. Although it does bother me when he says "I'm not a monster." Anytime anyone says "I'm not" something they usually are. For example, I was watching a special on John Hinckley and he managed to call Jodie Foster's dorm room when she was in college and told her "I'm not a dangerous guy." But I do admit if Estrada didn't wind up in the drug trade, he likely would have never wound up in prison.
I am curious to see what fugitives on AMW's capture roster look like now though.
