Reward Offered for Cargo Theft Fugitive
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Yoelvis Denis Hernandez, 42, of Dade County, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the theft of a $3 million shipment of ventilators on or about August 9, 2020.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Hernandez is urged to call (754) 703-2000.
The ventilators were being shipped to El Salvador by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) when stolen and were intended to assist the country’s response to COVID-19.
Investigators believe Hernandez may be somewhere in South Florida. He also has ties to Cuba.
A separate and additional amount of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Hernandez is being offered by the USAID Office of Inspector General.
The theft is being investigated by the Boynton Beach Police Department, Miami Dade Police Department, Medley Police Department, City of Miami Gardens Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office, USAID Office of Inspector General, FBI Miami’s Major Theft Task Force, and the FBI.
Because the investigation is ongoing, no further information or sound is being released at this time.
FBI press releases are issued for matters pertaining to public safety and/or requests for public assistance.

Thoughts? Based on the above article's press release date, Hernandez was still at large at least as of September 11th, 2020. This is a federal case so we probably won't be able to keep track of it in the Florida public warrants search but the FBI will probably give updates if and hopefully when Hernandez is caught.
Also, there's apparently a history here as Hernandez was accused of illegally smuggling 11 Brazilians to South Florida in 2014 as one member on the boat used to allegedly smuggle them says he wasn't even given a life vest. If those allegations were true he put their lives at risk and as we see here again allegedly doesn't care about the lives of the less fortunate: www.palmbeachpost.com/article/20140217/NEWS/812038285
