From CBS Austin:
AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Police are looking for a wanted fugitive accused of shooting at federal officers Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. at an apartment complex along Manor Road in East Austin.
Chief Brian Manley says the Lonestar Fugitive Taskforce was attempting to serve a federal arrest warrant for 31-year-old Deonte Lee Rogers, who is wanted on a probation violation.
When officers approached Rogers, Manley says he and another man ran away—and officers began chasing them. "As officers made the approach the suspect ran, along with another individual, around the apartment complex then around the corner headed to the eastside towards the woods," says Manley.
As the men and officers ran around a corner, Manley says Rogers shot at the officers and two officers shot back.
No officers were hurt in the shooting, however it's unclear if the suspect was injured—he escaped and has yet to be found.
Chief Manley says investigators found a gun in the apartment complex parking lot believed to be the one Rogers used. "We don't know if he was in possession of another firearm or has access to other firearms," says Manley.
According to the active warrant, Rogers was convicted in 2015 of felon in possession of a firearm. He served about four years in prison before being released in February 2019 under federal supervision for an additional three years.
However, Rogers is accused of failing drug tests at least 12 times since July 2019 and he was arrested that September for criminal trespassing.
The warrant the task force was serving Tuesday for his arrest is dated March 13, 2020.
Currently, APD and the FBI are searching for Deonte Rogers—if you have any information on his whereabouts, you're asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS 512-472-8477. Police advise anyone who comes in contact with Rogers to call 911 immediately, do not make any direct actions towards him.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Rogers is still at large as of this posting date (August 29th, 2020) since the above article is from only a few days ago with no updates about an arrest that I can find online since. However, if status has changed or changes in the future, anyone is more than welcome to let us know.
