Back on the old amw.com forums I established what I hope would be a tradition of season awards for each AMW season best re-enactment, worst re-enactment etc. Of course, AMW was cancelled. And although The Hunt was only 8 episodes, I chose to make an awards thread anyway. I chose not to go negative and do only a "best of" without a "worst of" since as John Walsh has stated in interviews The Hunt will evolve as it goes along. I'm sure they're already working to perfect what hopefully will be a season 2 and I just want people to support the show. I will not stop anyone's freedom of speech though so feel free to add your own categories should you choose to add those. The following are my awards. Eight episodes so these were the categories I could think of.
Best Capture: Charles Mozdir- Only because Shane Miller was not a result of The Hunt, but boy what a dramatic way to get yor first capture!
Best John Walsh quote: "If it were me, from my perspective, I'd take that gun and turn it on myself- John Walsh's foretelling quote on Shane Miller.
Best Non-John Walsh quote: "Prison has a way of taking care of these guys."- One of Rick McLean's victim's father on the hope he gets captured.
Best Re-Enactment: Chris Ponce- I know everyone will have a different opinion but what The Hunt tries to do is expand an AMW type-case so it can be about the victims as well. Not only was the reporting and flow done well, but everyone wanted to get justice for William Angel after the episode- which hopefully will happen.
Most Bizarre Quote: Charles Mozdir allegedly asking his victim if he knew dogs had small- I won't go there.
Most Disturbing Case: Victor Barnard is one of the sickest fugitives John Walsh has ever went after
Best Overall Episode: This was a tough one- Chris Ponce had a great re-enactment but I liked some others better than Dave Burgert's. I was thinking about Brad Bishop but I'm actually going to go with last night's episode of Jacob Wetterling and Genevieve and Scott Kelley, two cases, both very interesting with new details and clues. (Edit: Changed my mind and went with Brad Bishop's episode)
Everyone else's thoughts? Opinions?
