From sealynews.com:
A Wallis man was shot to death at his home Sunday around 11:30 a.m. and police are searching for his killer.
Jason Zavala, who lived at 6619 Guyler St. in Wallis, was allegedly killed by Heriberto Silva, 27, who reportedly lives in the Beasley area.
According to police, Zavala was in his backyard when Silva arrived at the house. Zavala approached him and after a short exchange of words, Zavala was shot in the chest and Silva fled the scene.
Austin County EMS and the Wallis Police Department responded, and Zavala was flown to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Lt. Kyle Fredericksen of the Wallis Police Department said the case is being investigated by multiple agencies, including the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and the U.S. Marshals.
“Nobody knows what it was about,” Fredericksen said when asked what the men were discussing.
Silva is still at large, and police warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Austin County Crime Stoppers at 979-865-2949.
Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Silva is still at large as of this posting date (August 1st, 2020) since the above article is from only a few weeks ago. However, if that status has changed or changes in the future, anyone is more than welcome to let us know.
