 Antonio Rangel Chavez has been wanted for 21 years in connection with a murder in Chester County, Pennsylvania. I don't know if he got an AMW airing in the 1990s. On June 19, 1993, bouncers at a hotel broke up a fight between Antonio Rangel Chavez and Juan Barajaz. Juan went back to his apartments when 18-year old Linda Bernal asked if she could lie down in the back of his car. Shortly after that, Antonio drove up to the apartments in a pickup truck. Antonio then opened fire on Juan, hitting him in the leg. He then fired shots at Juan's car, striking Linda in the head, she died on the way to the hospital. After a confidential informant brought up Antonio's name, Juan picked him out of a photo lineup. By then, authorities believe that Antonio fled to Mexico. Thoughts? Linda had nothing to do with the fight between Antonio and Juan but tragically was killed anyway. Even though he probably fled to Mexico, Antonio did work as a migrant camp laborer, so if he returned to the US at some point, he could easily work in that field. I was only a baby when she was taken from me.I hope one day he will pay for what he has done. My mother didn't deserve to die for his careless actions. |

We've had so many people here who tragically lost loved ones but not that it makes it any better, got to spend time with them and enjoy having time for a period of time in their lives. I'm so sorry that in this case, you were only a baby and never got to know your mother as well as you should have. 21 years is way too long to wait for justice so I too hope one day authorities figure out where this guy is hiding. |

Looking through www.newspapers.com, I found an article that references one of Antonio's aliases as "Tony Baloney". So a look out for anyone using the name "Tony Baloney" that may look like Antonio. |

Antonio Rangel-Chavez, also known as Tony Baloney, is wanted by Kennett Square Police Department in Chester County for murder and aggravated assault. Chavez is described as a Hispanic male, 22, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a medium complexion. He is between five feet nine inches tall, weighs about 195 pounds, has a stocky build and may or may not have a mustache and beard." |

I still see an online most wanted listing for Rangel-Chavez as of this update (7/29/2018), but unfortunately I am on my phone so I can't figure out a way to link to it. Also I apologize if I'm mixing the cases up but someone tried to register for our forum I think to post about this case but then got upset at their registration being rejected and gave up. I just wanted to let them know that it was not personal but because we've had a problem with spam, any registration from a generic email address such as gmail, yahoo etc... is normally automatically rejected by default. I have a scatterbrained memory so I might be mixing the cases up and it was another fugitive case where this happened, but if it was this case they are more than welcome to join again. Just please fill out the comment box so I know it is you.  And if it was a different case, I apologize for the confusion. |

Just as an additional reference for this case's status, the Pennsylvania Court Dockets system has a case file under "Antonio" "Rangel" in Chester County. That document for the murder case shows no movement currently since 1993.
