CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- A woman has been charged in with criminal homicide in connection with the May 13 shooting on Cobalt Drive that left a 42-year-old man dead.
Amber Lynn Tanner,24, is charged with the criminal homicide of Christopher Young of Clarksville on allegations she drove the alleged shooter, Eric Caffey, 25, both of Alabama to and from the crime scene on Cobalt Drive.
According to her warrant, On May 13, 2020 at about 12:35 a.m. Montgomery County E911 received a call that a man had been shot and when Clarksville Police arrive they found the victim hanging out of his SUV with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Tennova Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses on the scene gave a description of the shooter and the fact he was wearing all black and had approached the victim’s SUV and stated, “Give me your (expletive)!,” before hitting the victim in the face multiple times and then pulling out a pistol and shooting him several times.
The two fled in a dark colored car.
Detectives were able to find Tanner’s car fleeing the scene from several different video surveillance systems in the area of the homicide.
A tip led detectives to a witness who stated while he was speaking to Tanner, she told him she was present at the homicide and was afraid that her car was going to link her to it. Tanners car, a 2008 Volkswagon Jetta, matched the description given from witnesses at the scene and the surveillance tapes.
During a consensual search of Tanner’s phone, locations within a half mile of the crime scene were in her google search history.
According to a news release from Clarksville Police Department Special Operations Homicide Unit, they have been actively investigating the homicide of Christopher Young.
Lead Detective Nathan Lee has charged Tanner from Hanceville, Alabama and a warrant for criminal homicide has been issued for Caffey. Caffey is a black male with a date of birth of 08/29/1994. He stands 6’3″ and weighs approximately 235 pounds.
Caffey is believed to be in Alabama but has ties in Clarksville.
Any one that may have contact with Caffey is urged to call 911. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Thoughts? I have to be honest in that I'm not 100 percent confident Caffey is still at large as of this posting date (July 12th, 2020). I'm simply reasonably assuming he still is since the above article is from only a month ago with no updates since. However, if anyone ever has any past, present or future updates/proof-of-updates, they are always more than welcome to let us know.
