From the New York Daily News (nydailynews.com):
Cops released a photo Friday of a suspect they are trying to track down in the shooting death of a 17-year-old high school hoops star outside a friend’s birthday barbecue in the Bronx.
Najhim Luke, 22, is suspected of killing college-bound former high school basketball captain Brandon Hendricks, who was shot in the neck in Morris Heights June 28.
Hendricks, who had just graduated from Metropolitan Soundview High School, was outside a friend’s party on Davidson Ave. near w. 176th St. just before midnight when shots rang out, police and witnesses said.
Medics rushed Hendricks to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved.
The teen’s grieving mother told reporters her son was headed to college in the fall on a basketball scholarship. He hoped to become a physical education teacher or physical therapist, his former basketball coach told the Daily News.
Cops released the photo of Luke Friday and asked the public’s help in locating him.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Thoughts? Based on the above article's posting date, Luke was still being sought at least as of yesterday (7/4/2020). I
We previously covered Brandon's case earlier in the week as an unsolved case before a known suspect was named. Also I mentioned in that thread this case has affected me for a few reasons. I was born in the Bronx but there are a few reasons besides that as to why I've felt connected to and affected by Brandon's case but for safety reasons as the person that runs this forum I don't like to reveal too much about myself.
What I do know is all articles describe Brandon as a hard-working kid and good student and that he was an innocent bystander and unintended target. Not that any teenager's murder wouldn't have been tragic, but it's very frustrating and upsetting when you have a kid who did all the right things in life and still became a victim of senseless violence anyway.
