Authorities in Monroe, Michigan are trying to get justice in the unsolved murder of five-year old Nevaeh Buchanan. AMW.com featured the case when it was a major news story for a short period of time, but it was never aired on the show.
Nevaeh was last seen alive outside her apartment complex in the evening of May 24, 2009 when her mother reported her missing after she couldn't find her. After a massive search effort, two fishermen discovered Nevaeh's body on the banks of a river on Jun 4, buried in what was referred to as a "crude grave". She had died of asphyxiation and was likely buried alive. Nevaeh's mother has since said that there were no signs of trauma or sexual assault on her daughter's body. On May 22, 2014, a report mentioned that several investigators believe they know who killed Nevaeh. This person was never a previous person of interest and is currently on prison for a different crime.

Thoughts? One of the reasons why I posted this case aside from it being extremely horrible was that I recently reconnected with a distant family member of Nevaeh I once knew on a different crime-based message board (this goes back several years and I'm not related to her or her family.) I posted this case because that person was frustrated that it was never aired on AMW. The good news is that hopefully if this mentioned individual is Nevaeh's killer, investigators will one day have enough evidence to charge him with this crime.
