I recently decided to binge Forensic Files - the original series, not the reboot - and I've been curious as to how many episodes have featured cases that were also on AMW.
There's three I can think of off the top of my head.
The most famous case is probably the John List case. It's actually a fairly well-known season one episode of the show, featuring an interview with John Walsh when he still had black hair.
The Stanley Obas case was also featured. The focus was the fact the crime was solved by a piece of chewing gum. The show actually did mention that Obas was still a fugitive.
Finally, the case of Troy Graves, a serial rapist who was later linked to the murder of Shannon Schieber. This one's a little less known, but Shannon's murder was profiled on AMW in 1998.
There was one other case that was profiled on AMW from one of the earlier seasons, but I can't remember who it was. AMW wasn't mentioned by name, but the show aired a clip from the intro and said one of the suspects was arrested thanks to a nationwide crime program.
Can anyone else think of any other Forensic Files / AMW shared cases?

I'm re-watching the Forensic Files collections on Netflix right now so I can't say for sure, I'll say if I see anything that was on AMW, but I must say this was an excellent topic idea!

I can add one more; the Shannon Melendi case was featured on an episode I saw today. Shannon was an Emory University student who disappeared after keeping score at a softball came and was never found. Subsequently, the umpire at the game, ex-con Colvin "Butch" Hinton, was charged with her murder and sentenced to life in prison, even though her body was never found. Police believe Hinton incinerated Shannon's body.
Curiously, the show didn't mention that, while digging up Hinton's property, they found a scorebook similar to one Shannon might have used, but they could never confirm if it was hers or not.

Found another! The Mia Zapata case was featured on an episode I saw today. Mia was the lead singer of an up-and-coming grunge band called The Gits before she was raped and murdered one night in Seattle. DNA evidence a decade after her murder linked the crime to a man in Florida.
I also found a case that was on Unsolved Mysteries, but to my knowledge it was never on AMW. A man told police he picked up a hitchhiker who tried to kill him. He was able to get the hitchhiker out of his car, but then later saw the man lurking around his mother's house, so he called police. His mother was found dead and police initially didn't believe the man's story, but after investigating, they found he was innocent. More than a decade later, DNA linked a career criminal to the crime.

I should just create a list of cases and continuously update it. Today I saw two cases that were profiled on AMW:
- The 1996 murder of University of Oklahoma student Juli Busken. The case was profiled at least twice on AMW (I know of one 1997 profile and a 1999 profile). Anthony Sanchez was captured in 2004 and later convicted of the crime, thanks in part to some glitter.
- The 2006 murder of Sarah Anne Walker, who was killed while showing a model home in Texas. AMW aired the case over several weeks during the summer of 2006. Thanks to police work and information from witnesses, police arrested Kosoul Chanthakoummane for her murder.

I've been binging Forensic Files on Netflix so I've probably seen cases not knowing they were on AMW, so glad you're making this list lol.

I haven't reached the episode yet but the murder of Dr. Louis Davidson is another shared case. Dr. Davidson's wife, Denise, was cheating on him with Leonardo "Leo" Cisneros. He hired two hitmen to kill Dr. Davidson for Denise. Thanks to a bloody shoeprint at the scene, they were able to link the hitmen to the crime, and also arrest Denise for conspiracy to commit murder. Cisneros has never been caught.
