(Above photo credit: eastbaytimes.com) From the City of Oakland (California) government website: Today, the Oakland Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Section released the name and photo of a person who is wanted in connection with a fatal hit and run. On January 17, 2020, at 3:22 PM, in the 1800 block of 98th Avenue, one of our beloved community members, Miesha Singleton, a mother of 7 children, was struck and killed by a car traveling northbound. The driver did not stop. Because of you, our community, tips lead our investigators to the abandon vehicle. We have been actively searching for Henry Melendez who is wanted in connection with this fatal hit and run. Collectively the department has been working with the U.S. Marshals to locate and arrest Melendez. We are confident we will bring Melendez to justice and provide closure for the Singleton family and our community. Melendez is described as a male Hispanic, 26-years-old, 5’7”, 137 pounds, with brown eyes and dark hair. The Oakland Police department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case (510) 777-8572.
