LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The U.S. Marshals have joined the Searcy Police Department in the search for a man who is suspected of murder.
On April 29 at 2:19 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call on Randall Drive in Searcy. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as 38-year-old Eric Kalas of Searcy, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
Kalas was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. An investigation led police to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Robert Hurd of Searcy. Police say he fled the area after the shooting.
Hurd is described as 5-foot-10 and 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is facing charges of capital murder, aggravated robbery, and theft of property.
Police say Hurd is considered armed and dangerous and is currently out on bond for two counts of attempted murder in a separate case. It is believed that he could be in the Memphis area.
If you have any information about Hurd’s whereabouts, you are asked to call the Searcy Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 501-279-1038.

Thoughts? Well as the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Anyway, as of this posting date (May 14th, 2020), a search of Pulaski County's online criminal court records still shows Hurd as having an open warrant on his charges with no updates since a May 1st, 2020 filing: caseinfo.arcourts.gov/cconnect/PROD/public/ck_public_qry_doct.cp_dktrpt_frames?backto=P&case_id=73CR-20-242&begin_date=&end_date=
