(KUTV) — A man accused of firing a weapon at law enforcement officers in San Juan County is being sought by authorities.
While investigating an incident on Thursday, an FBI agent and San Juan County Sheriff's deputy went to the home of Cecil Vijil in Navajo Nation near Aneth.
Vijil reportedly fired multiple shots at the officers, but no one was injured.
He has been charged with assault on a federal officer and discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, according to a press release by the FBI.
Authorities are asking for the public's help to find Vijil and are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
He may be traveling with an individual named Gary Lee Jr., according to the sheriff's office. Lee is also being investigating in connection to the crimes.
Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees them is asked to call 911 or 435-587-2237.
