"STAUNTON — On Wednesday, April 22, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by authorities in West Virginia, seeking assistance in locating and arresting Larry Allen Turner, 41.
According to the Augusta sheriff, Turner is wanted on multiple felony warrants and considered armed and dangerous. He is also a person of interest in a West Virginia homicide investigation.
On April 10, in West Virginia, Turner is alleged to have stolen three vehicles with at least one auto being taken at gunpoint.
On April 20, during the evening hours, Turner was sighted in the City of Staunton and throughout Augusta County.
At about 4 p.m., information was received that Turner was possibly in the western area of Augusta County, near Churchville on U.S. 250, Hankey Mountain Highway.
Deputies flooded the area attempting to locate a black Volkswagen near Hankey Mountain Highway west of Churchville.
A group of individuals, one thought to be Turner (later proved not to be Turner), was contacted by deputies on Community Lane. While this contact was being made, the Augusta County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting Turner was in the 1300 block of Hankey Mountain Highway driving a silver Volkswagen.
While in the area, Turner is alleged to have displayed a handgun and fled west on Hankey Mountain Highway toward West Augusta.
Units from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police flooded the area seeking Turner and the silver Volkswagen.
Additionally, law enforcement in Bath, Allegany, Rockbridge, and Highland counties, as well as law enforcement in West Virginia, were notified and assisted.
Members of the Augusta County SWAT Team staged at Churchville Elementary School to centrally locate and prepare to respond if Turner was sighted or contacted. Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office assisted with their armored vehicle.
The origin of the silver 2005 Volkswagen Passat that Turner was believed to be operating was revealed at 5:30 p.m. when a resident on Quicks Mill Road in Augusta County, reported his house had been burglarized and his silver 2005 Volkswagen Passat station wagon bearing the Virginia personalized plate ELFOXO had been stolen.
This is the last known stolen auto that Turner is believed to be operating.
Another vehicle wanted by authorities that was allegedly stolen by Turner on April 10 in West Virginia, a Ford F-150 bearing Oklahoma plate V35101, has not been recovered.
Authorities in Bath County received a report of a “silver Volkswagen” running a citizen off the road on Route 39 in Bath County at about 6:30 p.m., and this is the last probable sighting of Turner and the silver Passat.
Deputies from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies worked throughout the night searching for Turner and the stolen silver 2005 Volkswagen Passat station wagon Virginia personalized plate ELFOXO.
The stolen Volkswagen Passat was recovered this afternoon, April 23, in Pocahontas County, by the West Virginia State Police. Additionally, Turner was spotted this morning at a State Park in Pocahontas County. He is still at large.
Turner is currently wanted by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office for probation violation and revocation of a bond
Turner is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone spotting Turner should call 911.
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office cannot provide information on any crimes that Turner may or may not be associated with outside of Augusta County. The investigation into his activities in Augusta County is ongoing.

Thoughts? Based on the above article's posting date, Turner was still at large at least as of April 23rd, 2020.
I could not find any additional information about the homicide investigation that Turner is a person of interest in.
