From Patch:
BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Revenge over a 2017 murder likely motivated a fatal stabbing in Bed-Stuy months ago, authorities said.
The latest twist in the intertwined deaths of Shaquill Banks, 23, and Jamel Horne, 31, happened over the weekend when police asked for help tracking down a suspect.
A relative of Banks — Edwin Banks, 44 — is wanted for questioning in Horne's Dec. 30 stabbing death along Chauncey Street in Bed-Stuy.
It's the same block where Horne died in October 2017.
Police believe Horne's slaying was retaliation for Banks' death, the New York Daily News first reported.
The pair were close friends and Horne's family denied he had anything to do with Banks' death, the Daily News reported.
But regardless of Horne's actual involvement, police suspect one or more of Banks' relatives believed he was involved and decided he should pay, authorities said.
NYPD arrested Banks' uncle Kareem Waters, 20, the day after Horne's death, the Daily News reported. He's charged with murder and weapons possession, according to court records.
Edwin Banks remains wanted for questioning, police said.People with information are asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Banks is still wanted for questioning as of this posting date (April 20th, 2020) since the above article is from only a few days ago. However, if anyone ever has any updates/proof-of-updates, they are always more than welcome to let us know. It is also important to note Banks at least as of this past week was only wanted for questioning and not charged with any criminal wrongdoing.
Regardless, it seems police believe Kareem Waters (p.s. I am confused as to how they arrested Banks "uncle" who is 24 years younger than him so I assume either the age or relationship is a possible article error, if anyone can clarify it would be appreciated) and perhaps other people murdered Jamel Horne over a homicide his family says he wasn't even involved with. Still, it is never right to take the law into your own hands whether Horne had anything to do with Shaquill Banks' murder or not.
