(WBTV) - Deputies in Georgia are asking for the public’s help finding a missing woman they say is with a murder suspect and could be in “grave danger.” Deputies with the Butts County Sheriff’s Office say they believe 21-year-old Autumn Keara Finlay is being held against her will by 20-year-old Cody Bryce Matthews, who is wanted on murder and aggravated assault charges. According to the department’s Facebook page, Matthews is wanted in connection with a homicide that took place on April 5. They did not provide further details about that case. No information about a possible vehicle, direction of travel or clothing description has been provided, but a reward is being offered for information on their whereabouts. Anyone who sees Finlay or Matthews is urged to call 911 immediately.www.wbtv.com/2020/04/06/ga-woman-grave-danger-believed-be-with-armed-dangerous-murder-suspect/Thoughts? This is a breaking news case so obviously Matthews is still at large and Finlay is still believed to be with him as of this posting date (April 6th, 2020). Finlay is no longer believed to be unwillingly with Matthews and is now wanted for aiding and abetting a fugitive. The fact of the matter is even if Finlay is technically a fugitive as well- she is in my opinion still in danger being with a murder suspect. I've seen lots of these types of cases, and sometimes the partner is willing but young and easily manipulated- sometimes they know exactly what they're doing and use their youth as an excuse. I don't know anything about her to judge except to say the best thing she could do is find a way to turn herself in and cut a deal testify against Matthews (if she has knowledge of Matthews' alleged guilt). While every case in different, the partners who were considered accessories in similar cases I've seen often had their charges dropped or at least lessened once they turned on their partner after apprehension. The problem is right now she's still believed to be with Matthews, and the longer she allegedly stays willingly with him, in my opinion the lesser chances at sympathy or any deals. (She of course also has the right to argue innocence as well, but the Sheriff's Office seems to believe they have evidence she willingly aided his escape based on the articles). wgxa.tv/news/local/deputies-2-wanted-in-connection-to-butts-county-homicide
