AMW actually got a tip identifying who that guy was - turns out he was an ex-police officer that was childhood friends with John Gotti. That, interestingly, was the last time AMW aired this case (January 2009). My guess is the unknown man at the funeral was the best lead they'd had in years, and once it was disproven as Quartieri, they were back at square one. A John Gotti biopic will premiere in US theatres around June 15, 2018. Starring John Travolta as John Gotti. Interesting to see if an actor playing Quartieri or a fictionalized composite of him appears in the film.

The Robert Michael Allen (aka Robert Michael Suggs) case in more detail. Allen killed his girlfriend as well as shooting and killing a con artist named Roland Jon Emr who was posing as a movie producer and Emr's son and wounding Emr's mother in a drive-by shooting in Southern California and murdering Emr's father in Arizona. Allen was a former police officer who worked as a private detective and bodyguard and had invested in Emr's film project of a James Dean biopic which turned out to be a scam.

Recalled Braswell's behavior in the AMW reenactment before the murder and jail term...sniffing glue in his bedroom at home and vandalizing an empty house for sale.
Not a model citizen.

All that anger and stress being taken out on his alleged victims then...DeAngelo paid a price of sorts from that in his current physical state.
Justice works in various ways...now on to the legal justice process.

I wonder how many of the other 100 fugitive cases in the article are now open and closed.
The Paul Wong case stands out with the cold blooded nature of the crime and the good stunt work in the AMW reenactment (Wong's BMW sedan tailgating the motorcycle with the couple riding on it too closely at high speed). Serious road rage.

Suspect in custody... Joseph James DeAngelo, 72, a former police officer in Auburn CA was arrested in Ventura County, CA and booked on 2 counts of murder so far in Sacramento CA. DNA match. The Mr. Cruel Aussie killer might not be the same guy, but the recent rehashing of the Golden State Killer case might have played a role in the arrest.

America's Most Wanted, Unsolved Mysteries, The Hunt, and most tv series depicting true crime investigations and re-inactments usually have photos of any connected deceased victim or victims when alive, probably to avoid trouble with tv network censors and sensitive viewers. Some programs and online media may show post mortem recreations of the victims' faces by artists and computer graphics people as when they were alive and unidentified before decomposition or injury. And some would show the deceased's face and body photos from the medical examiner or actual crime scene photos of the deceased as part of the investigations, particularly if the victim is unidentified and having tattoos, body features or wounds that may help in the identification. The Pizza Bomb case on AMW had the gory aftermath of the bomb exploding obscured with computer graphics.
Some people may be sensitive to such photos and one can feel what police homicide detectives have to endure when examining the dead and the graphic crime scenes often on the job. I probably would not have the stomach to work such a job.
