From CNN.com:
(CNN)A convicted murderer escaped from a work release center in Alabama Saturday night, authorities said.
Daniel Miner, 43, was reported missing after a Saturday night bed check at the facility in Childersburg, southeast of Birmingham, the state's correction department said in a release.
Miner is a white man, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 192 pounds. He has tattoos on his arms, torso, neck and back, and was last seen wearing a white state prison uniform, according to the release.
Miner was sentence to life in prison with the possibility of parole after he was convicted of murder in 1994, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections website. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that Miner was convicted of a murder in that county.
Anyone with information on him is asked to contact the Department of Corrections or local law enforcement.
The Childersburg facility is a minimum-security institution, according to the Department of Corrections website.
Inmates at the center may be assigned to work for various government agencies for paid employment while inmates in the work release program work for private employers in the community, according to the website.

Thoughts? Based on online articles, Miner was still at large at least as of February 24th, 2020. I'm also placing Miner in the Fugitives on TV section because of CNN's national news website coverage.
I know we all have a tendency to speak in hyperbole, but I feel like this is the busiest weekend/start to the week for breaking news fugitive cases I've ever had on this forum. And this case reminds me of Glen Chambers in the sheer stupidity of letting a guy convicted of murder be in a minimum security prison. Hopefully this manhunt lasts nowhere near as long as the manhunt for Chambers did.
