Thoughts? I haven't seen any new articles since May but a search of Wisconsin's online criminal court records shows the cass against Hildebrand still listed as "Filed Only- Warrant Issued"- wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetail.html?caseNo=2019CF000289&countyNo=70&index=0&mode=details
Also I don't know if what the local police told the media got lost in translation or something but some article have police stating Hildebrand was not considered a threat to the public while others stated he didn't threaten to harm the public. However, that was back in May. I'm not sure if that's the same status now but the way I see it anyone wanted on such charges is a serious threat to the public. Not to mention Hildebrand is also a threat to children based on the alleged charges.
In no way should you take the law into your own hands, call authorities or Crime Stoppers if you spot Hildebrand. However, I'd like to politely disagree that he shouldn't be considered a threat and my feeling is that it is local media's misinterpretation of what police were trying to say.
Considering Hildebrand left with a shotgun and abandoned his van near a lake, there is always the possibility he committed suicide and that's why he wasn't considered a threat to the public. However, I have seen plenty of cases over the years where the fugitive wanted it to look like they were about to kill themselves and never went through with it.
I will say because of the no new articles, I'll admit my own hypocrisy and state maybe I'm off on the details and perhaps there's some changes about the manhunt by now so I'm taking a risk by posting the case now rather than waiting for clarification on that regard. However, if anyone has any clarifications they can always contact us at our email contact form.
