From 11alive.com: (NBC Atlanta):
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police are searching for a wanted fugitive who they said slipped off his ankle monitor and ran.
Gwinnett County Police said 25-year-old Israel Bland and three other suspects committed a home invasion off Cannonball Court back on May 16, 2016.
In the 2016 robbery, the suspects held a mother and her teenage daughter at gunpoint. The duo spoke with 11Alive in 2016 from a relative's apartment. They didn't want their names made public but agreed to be interviewed on camera.
The then 39-year-old mother said three armed men knocked on the door on May 16, 2016, and when she refused to open the door they broke in.
"The first guy came in with a gun and he put it to my head and he backed me up to the couch,” the mother told 11Alive. “Then he started saying where is the money at, where is the money at? Where it at or I’m going to blow your head off."
After making several arrests, Gwinnett County police later identified the three men as Jameel Hazel, Ronni Amos, and Bland. Hazel and Amos are still in jail.
Officers also arrested Taneah Hazel, who is also still in jail, and police say she acted as the getaway driver.
During the robbery, the mother said the men started running around the apartment looking for money and valuables while threatening her daughter.
"I mean he hit her in the head with the gun and put it in her mouth and told her to stop crying or he was going to blow her head off,” she said.
The mother told them to back away from her daughter and that is when two warning shots were fired.
"They fired a shot at me beside my leg and when she was running back up the stairs they shot one toward her but she moved to the side so it went right past her head to the wall," she said.
"When he shot it I kind of tripped and ducked,” the daughter told 11Alive in 2016. “Then the bullet went past me. Like I could feel the pressure go past me."
Before the three men left, the mother said they discussed kidnapping and even raping her daughter. She thought it would be the last time they saw each other.
"I thought he was going to shoot me execution-style in the back of my head. But he didn't,” the mother said. “I was like you aren't going to take my daughter. You can't do that. Yeah, you're going to have to kill me."
After the three men ran out of the apartment, a neighbor confronted them and exchanged gunfire. Police said three people, including Bland, were shot and Bland was dropped off at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Bland was eventually charged with five counts of aggravated assault, armed robbery, home invasion robbery, several counts of false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of the crimes.
He had been in jail awaiting trial until he was released on bond Feb. 10, 2018. A judge had ordered to wear an ankle monitor, authorities said Bland slipped out of his ankle monitor June 30 and ran.
A judge has since revoked Bland’s bond, charges have been obtained for removing the ankle monitor. However, Bland is still at large. A Gwinnett County Police spokesman told 11Alive it is possible Bland is no longer in Gwinnett County.
Anyone who spots Bland is asked to call 911. To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
