Photo Credits: Rhode Island Most Wanted DOB: 05/04/1962 -- On January 17, 2016, Rigoberto Vasquez was allegedly driving while intoxicated in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Authorities say that as a result, he struck Gary Laramee with his vehicle. Rigoberto then fled from the hit-and-run scene and Gary later died from his injuries. Rigoberto was soon located, but he posted bail and is believed to have fled the US, possibly for Guatemala. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the Central Falls Police Department at 401-727-7411 (ext. 2518) if you have any information on Rigoberto Vasquez's whereabouts.Moderator Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form --Thoughts? The Rhode Island court records page confirms the status of this warrant to still be "issued" so Rigoberto is still at large unfortunately. Thankfully extradition relations between the US and Guatemala are getting better, so Rigoberto fled over to that country, hopefully he'll be caught soon. wpri.com/2017/01/26/one-year-later-pair-of-fugitives-still-at-large/web.archive.org/web/20171227150514/http://www.rimostwanted.org/index.cfm?ac=casedetails&CaseID=20160016

What's really sad about this case is if you google Gary Laramee's name, you can see how beloved he was, as there are numerous condolences on a legacy.com page dedicated to him. www.legacy.com/guestbooks/pawtuckettimes/gary-laramee-condolences/177411148?cid=fullThis is the man Vasquez took away because he didn't know better than to not drink at drive as a 53 year old adult male. (not to excuse them, but how many times have we seen cases like this where it's an irresponsible kid and while they still need to be punished, they at least have being young and immature for a defense for leniency). To make matters worse, Vasquez fled, possibly to Guatemala, rather than accept responsibility. Just a complete coward.

A search of Rhode Island's online criminal court records oddly shows new warrants issued last month for Vasquez while the old ones are closed. Whatever the reason, I'm assuming this means he is unfortunately still at large as of this update. (7/6/2018). publicportal.courts.ri.gov/PublicPortal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0
