Although AMW: Final Justice, a show from the 90's that would update the cases and sentences for captured AMW fugitives is no longer on the air, the tv show I (Almost) Got Away With It, which is a tv show featuring jailed former fugitives being interviewed about their life on the run and how they managed to almost avoid capture, has featured some former AMW fugitives. So with this I figured I'd make a list of all IAGAWI episodes that feature a former AMW fugitive and whether or not they were direct captures. Any corrections or mentions of fugitives I left off are appreciated! This is a work in progress, so I'll update little-by-little. First with seasons 1-2 (season 2 only lists Courtney Savage on Wikipedia so any additional fugitives aired would be appreciated)
Season 1:
Episode 1- Michael McGuffey (AMW direct capture #687) Episode 2- Michael Alfonso (AMW direct capture #803) Episode 3- Jerry Bowen (aired on AMW, captured by Unsolved Mysteries) Episode 8- Joseph Crouch (AMW direct capture #747) Episode 11- Scott Freeburg (? Just assuming he was aired since he was on the US Marshals top 15 list in the 90's, confirmation welcome) Episode 12- Kerry Silvers (aired on AMW, indirect capture)
Season 2:
Episode 1- Robert Spencer (AMW direct capture #928 Episode 2- Philip Williams (AMW direct capture #844) Episode 5- Ed Roberson (AMW web-exclusive, indirect capture) Episode 6- Raymond Ross (AMW direct capture #850) Episode 7- Courtenay Savage (AMW direct capture #1033) Episode 8- Joseph "Sean" Salley (AMW direct capture #677) Episode 12- Eric Quesada (AMW direct capture #664)
Season 3:
Episode 1- Christopher Gay (AMW web-exclusive, indirect capture) Episode 6- Scott Eizember (aired on AMW, indirect capture) Episode 7- Larry McClendon and Michael England (part of the Edward Salas jail-escape that were indirectly captured briefly after airing) Episode 11- Koung Chung Bounnam (AMW direct capture #330)
Season 4: Episode 7- Peter Braunstein (AMW direct capture #871) Epiode 12- Valerie Castellano (aired on AMW, indirect capture)
Season 5:
Episode 4- Jerry Wayne Wright (AMW web-exclusive, indirect capture) Episode 12- Brandon Starks (AMW web-exclusive, part 2 of a 2-part episode, indirect capture)
Season 6-
Episode 2- Timothy Fletcher/Doni Ray Brown (AMW web-exclusives, indirect captures)
The following were also aired on AMW and I Almost Got Away With It, although episodes or seasons would be appreciated:
- Indirect capture Ricky Sleight - Indirect capture Kenneth Raulerson

I'd say it's kind of like an extension of AMW, but yeah, it's a good show.

There's a couple others:
- Indirect capture Ricky Sleight - Indirect capture Kenneth Raulerson - Capture #664, Eric Quesada - Capture #677, Joseph "Sean" Salley - Capture #850, Raymond Ross - Indirect web-exclusive Ed Roberson - Capture #844, Phillip Williams - Capture #928, Robert Spencer
Also, a few clarifications:
Christopher Gay, Jerry Wayne Wright, Brandon Starks, Timothy Fletcher and Doni Ray Brown were actually just web-exclusives. None of them were actually profiled on the show.
The Toby Young that was profiled on IAGAWI is a different Toby Young than was profiled on AMW. AMW's Toby Young was a prison volunteer who helped convicted killer John Manard break out of a Kansas prison. They were caught less than a week later.

Flipping through channels and I came across season 7- episode 3 on ID and guess who in this episode? Brian Maurice Fuller! Only caught the tail end of it. A clean-shaven and clothed Fuller was not as cocky as in his AMW walk of shame and wasn't quoted as blaming the victim for being rich (at least not in the parts I saw)- he came across as more manipulative than anything else in my opinion. At the end of the segment, he put the blame on his accomplice for the robbery where Jill Katz was severely beaten more than anything else, saying he can't say he wouldn't have committed robberies looking back but he regrets not saying "don't hurt her." As if he didn't know that could happen in a robbery. A couple interesting things- Brian Fuller said he obtained his fake ID from looking at names of children that had passed away a few days after they were born in the newspaper. They of course refer to AMW as a "national crime show" (thanks Fox copyrights!) and say the tip that initially led to Fuller's capture was a woman in a jewelry store that Fuller went to so she could repair something. She had his cell number and they also used facial recognition technology to match ID's. They arrest him and he says "you didn't have to do all this. I'm not a dangerous person" and the Sheriff interviewed on the show said "I thought- Brian- you're not Robin Hood. We can't let this go." which I thought was a great quote. Although his infamous "have a blessed day" catch phrase was not in what I saw of the episode, he did say something similar to the "The universe- it speaks to me" quote from the AMW re-enactment. In the closing segments- he says (these are almost the exact words) "The Universe is an amazing place, and if you really look into it, you'll find a lot of good in it." Which of course based on who was saying it was the epitome of irony. Also, the re-enactment of his arrest was partially inaccurate because the actor was clothed. Just saying.

Why does it not surprise me that Brian Maurice Fuller was featured on this show?

I think based on the Lifetime captures he would probably have been #1 on my list of predictions for the show. Not taking anything away from the crime this scumbag was accused of and how serious it was, but he clearly had the most interesting backstory and he was obviously a unique "character" fugitive. I was actually disappointed it was only a walk of shame and not jail house interview on AMW since I was very curious to see what he would say. But it looks like IAGAWI made up for that and thankfully Fuller is in jail for what should be the rest of his life.

I'm going to start watching some of the episodes on Youtube soon (since I live in Canada and I don't think I get this channel up here as part of my cable). I did find out from msn.tv that the June 30th episode will be about the Texas Seven, with a focus on Patrick Murphy. tv.msn.com/tv/series-episodes/i-(almost)-got-away-with-it/

Patrick Murphy was a decent episode. Murphy didn't really speak as much as other fugitives. He mentioned after they escaped he was in a motel bathroom next to two cops and overheard them saying "I'd love to be the guy who takes them down" unaware he was standing right next to them. He also "claimed" to regret the escape and everything that happened afterwards, saying "crime doesn't pay". (He only had a year left in prison but was described as a risk taker).
What still amuses me though is the length the show goes to in order to avoid saying America's Most Wanted. I understand it's because of copyrights but it's still amusing. I have seen the show mentioned by the people being interviewed in the past, so apparently the copyright only applies to the voice-over and actors speaking in the re-enactments. Usually the announcer says "national crime show" but in this one they just say they're shown on national TV. Then they show a guy going to the trailer manager alerting him to the Texas 7 hiding there and saying "Hey, I was just watching Ten Most Wanted." They even make up shows to avoid saying AMW now! LOL!
