Seven of the 8 individuals involved in the conspiracy with Asllani were arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina, in July of 2009.
On April 19, 2010, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Bajram Asllani in the United States District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina. Thoughts? I put the contact info for anyone with information as usual but in reality this is a case where Bajram Asllani is hiding in plain sight. He is living openly in Kosovo but cannot be extradited. Due to the country's unusual international status and weak judicial system, Kosovo relies on European union judges and prosecutors to handle major cases involving terrorism and war crimes. The EU judges found that the United States had not provided sufficient grounds for believing that Asllani had committed the offence, and therefore has ruled against extradition. What makes this ruling incredibly bizarre is that Kosovo themselves have approved extradition, but apparently it is the EU judges that make the final decisions.
Asllani has been interviewed for the article with this information, and claims he is innocent: in.reuters.com/article/idINIndia-53115020101124
