Gary Irving is a serial rapist wanted for attacks on several young women back in 1978. The first victim, an 18 year-old woman, was attacked after she passed Irving's car while walking home. Irving, then an 18 year-old college student, jumped out and abducted her at knifepoint. He drove her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her. A little over a week later, he struck again when he grabbed a 16 year-old girl off her bike and raped her in his car. Not long after that attack, he and another man abducted another 16 year-old girl, drove her to a remote location, and raped her. A month later, Irving tried to abduct two teenage girls, but they were able to escape and identify part of Irving's license plate. Irving was arrested, tried, and convicted of multiple counts of rape, kidnapping, and assault. But the judge decided Irving wasn't a flight risk and let him out on bail while he got his affairs in order. Irving then fled. Irving's family had to have been protecting him for the first couple of years or so, since I doubt he alone had the resources to begin a new life on the run. They probably sent him overseas. My guess would be somewhere in Europe, since I really can't picture Irving in Mexico. Thoughts? Edit: Gary Irving has been captured after 33 years on the run! www.myfoxboston.com/story/21813191/state-police-dangerous-fugitive-caught-after-33-years-on-the-run

I'd say overseas is a good guess if the family is protecting him.

Unfortunately, I doubt they're still protecting him and Irving is now probably adapted to his new life by now. He'd be in his 50s today, so his family may not even be alive to question.

Right. Logic says might not still not alive. My mind was elsewhere when I said that.

Wow.... He wasn't that far after all. Although he does look drastically different than his mugshot. Anyway, great capture.

Great capture and I can't get over the coincidence! But true. Scarily, I think he actually looks like Charles Parker after he got caught last year. I hope Irving gets to spend a lot more time in prison, however.

Luckily he'll be in probably for the rest of his life. He's not that old, but he looks it.

Hopefully his family also pays the price for hiding him all these years

great capture it is hard to imagine that someone who has been on the run for 33 years can finally be captured i always find it funny to imagine the fugitives surprise at his capture after so long on the run but anyway this is a great capture that really gives me hope for other cold cases it really does appear that you will be arrested no matter how long you run from justice

As John Walsh says, you can run, but you can't hide And I am not trying to purposely rhyme but another good cliche for this moment is "Justice delayed is not justice denied."
