SCHENECTADY – The 35-year-old man suspected of killing his ex-wife in Schenectady over the weekend is also wanted in the stabbing death of his pregnant girlfriend in Brooklyn earlier this month, according to authorities and media reports.
Schenectady police on Monday identified Timothy Taylor as a person of interest in connection with the death Sunday of 44-year-old Tishawn Folkes-Taylor.
Police say they found the woman unconscious early Sunday morning after responding to call of a person in need of medical help at a home on Pleasant Street in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood.
Folkes-Taylor was subsequently pronounced dead at the dwelling.
She died of trauma, police said, though they are still awaiting autopsy results to determine her exact cause of death.
She and Taylor were once married, authorities said.
Taylor is also wanted for questioning downstate by the NYPD in connection with the killing earlier this month of his girlfriend, Theresa Gregg, a city Department of Homeless Services (DHS) officer.
A wanted poster put out by the DHS Police Department bearing Taylor’s photo accuses him of stabbing her numerous times inside her Bedford Avenue apartment in Brooklyn on May 13.
Several media reports indicate that Gregg was 2- to 3-months pregnant at the time of her death.
Federal Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to Taylor’s arrest.
He is described as a 5-foot 9-inch tall, medium build Black man weighing 160 pounds, with a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
Anyone with information can call the Schenectady Police Department’s TIPS Line at 518-788-6566.
The homicide Sunday is close to the Crane Street apartment where police and paramedics found Philomen Henry fatally shot on May 22.
As of Tuesday, police were continuing to hunt for her killer.
Both homicides in Schenectady stemmed from domestic disputes that ended violently, authorities said.
