Avelino Martinez Alvarado is the first of three AMW-aired fugitives wanted for either a murder and/or kidnapping I plan on profiling this week. He was aired on their December 4th, 2004 episode.
On October 20th, 2004, authorities in Houston, Texas received a call from a relative asking police to check on the welfare of the mother, Rocio Alvarado. They hadn't heard from her since the previous evening when she was supposed to visit her doctor. However, when she wasn't at the location given, they went to her husband, Avelino Alvarado's, apartment. Officials say that's where they found her dead. According to police, Pedro Vargas, Avelino's roommate, found Rocio Alvarado dead under the covers of his roommate's bed. Avelino Alvarado went on the run and police believe the couple's 4-year-old, Jesus, was taken with him.
Avelino was last seen driving a brown Chevrolet pick up truck with an extended cab and Texas license plate number VS2034. It is believed he may be hiding in either Laredo, Texas or Nuevo Loredo, Texas.
Thoughts? What I find weird is according to the Charley Project, the daughter was unharmed, and Avelino only allegedly took his son. I am thankful his daughter wound up safe, but even 11 years later, I still worry about now 15-year old Jesus, who is still a minor. Mexico makes sense but then again so does Laredo since Avelino has relatives there.
