CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is requesting assistance finding a homeless man wanted by the Nashua police on duty to report charges.
Robert James Cain is either 55 or 60, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs around 165 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Cain, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, has a scar on his right hand and a mole on his cheek.
"Cain is being sought on an arrest warrant for failing to report and register as a sex offender stemming from two separate occasions," White said. "Cain is a Tier 2 sex offender with a duty register for life in the state of New Hampshire based on a conviction of indecent assault and battery on a child in Peabody, Massachusetts."
White said Cain has a criminal history that includes multiple charges of failing to report for sex offender registrations, criminal trespassing, and public intoxication. He was reportedly last known to be homeless in Manchester but also has ties to Nashua. An "escape risk" warning has been placed on Cain's alert.
According to superior court records, Cain also has an active burglary case out of Manchester from Dec. 31, 2021, and an active registration of sex offenders; duty to report charge out of Manchester from March 5, 2021. He was convicted on a registration of sex offenders; duty to report charge out of Nashua from 2019 on Feb. 26, 2020, and given a suspended sentence. Cain was convicted on registration of sex offenders; duty to report and criminal trespass charges out of Manchester in June 2013 after being accused of multiple burglary charges.
Between 1997 and 2008, he faced multiple charges in court including change of name-alias-address; duty to inform, bail jumping, forgery, criminal mischief, and multiple burglary charges.
If you know where Cain is or have seen someone that looks like him, do not try to capture him. Contact local police or the task force at 603-225-1632.
