ELLICOTT CITY, Md. —
A manhunt is underway, and an Ellicott City neighborhood is stunned after a couple was found dead inside their own home.
The story starts with a death in Allegany County. The stolen car from that case led police to the neighborhood in Ellicott City where they made the gruesome discovery.
Police are asking everyone to keep their eyes out for the suspect.
"We do believe he is armed and dangerous and we just can't stress enough to the public how important it is that we get information about his whereabouts," Sherry Llewellyn, of Howard County police said.
Police said Jeffrey Allen Burnham, 46, killed 83-year-old Rebecca Reynolds in Allegany County Wednesday night, stole her car, drove it to a home on Kerger Drive in Ellicott City and shot and killed his brother, 58-year-old Brian Robinette and 57-year-old Kelly Sue Robinette.
"We don't, at this point, know what the motives were in any of these three homicides, but we can confirm that all three victims were known to the suspect and were targeted by this suspect," Llewellyn said.
Police said Burnham then stole his brother's red Corvette with Maryland license plate 8BX5121 and took off.
"We are unsure what time these homicides occurred, so we are also unsure what time this suspect may have left the area. We are asking for people in the community to be aware to keep an eye out for him and for this car, but we're also aware he may have traveled some distance," Llewellyn said.
Neighbors said Robinette and his wife lived in the home for many years and have two adult children. Many were too distraught to talk to us on camera, but all are stunned by the news.
"It's pretty surprising given where we live. It's shocking," resident Chris said.
"Scared I guess, you know," resident Patel said. "It's very safe. I've been here 30 years it's very safe. It's very unusual here."
Police don't know where Burnham is. They are actively searching for him and asking everyone to be on the lookout and call 911 if anyone sees him or the Corvette.
"We really wish we had more information about where he might be headed. His ties are in Cumberland, so there's a good chance he could be heading back in that direction," Llewellyn said.
Burnham is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair.
Police said until he is found, officers are protecting Burnham's other family members in Cumberland and in Howard County.

Thoughts? Based on the above article's posting date, Burnham was still at large at least as of September 30th, 2021. I literally just found out about this case as I thought I was done posting cases for the night, but based on how serious this is, I'm sure we'll continue to see updates.
