(Above photo credit: Central Ohio Crime Stoppers website) Fugitive Profile as of November 16th, 2014 (Based on Central Ohio Crime Stoppers profile): Age: 20 Sex: Male Height: 5'9 Weight: 165 Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Tattoos: On Neck, Chest, Left and Right Forearms Who to call if you've seen him: Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS. You can also submit a web tip to them at the following link: www.tipsubmit.com/webtips.aspx?L=E&AgencyID=125On August 7th, 2013, 3-year old Alonzo Souek was rushed to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio by his mother Linda Soeuk and her female friend. The boy had no heart rate and wasn't breathing. He had bruises on his face and back and had been treated in the hospital several days earlier for an injured arm. Sadly, Alonzo would die at 10:07 PM that night. A Columbus police officer working special duty at the hospital saw the visible injuries on the boy and reported the death to investigators as suspicious, and with good reason. Alonzo's cause of death was ruled by the coroner as the result of peritonitis and blunt force abdominal injuries. Peritonitis is is defined as inflammation of the peritoneum, the thin tissue that lines the inner wall of the abdomen and covers most of the abdominal organs. It was a homicide. The suspect was pretty obvious right away: 19-year old Roberto Avina-Casillas, an illegal immigrant from Mexico that was Linda Soeuk's live-in boyfriend. He had only been living in her apartment for a week. When police had searched that apartment after Alonzo's death, they found vomit in his bedroom. Although Alonzo had been to the hospital before with physical wounds, police say his fatal injuries came right after Avina-Casillas had an argument with Linda. That assault right afterwards was said to have caused the fatal internal bleeding. Linda Soeuk has spoken out publicly about the man she believes is responsible for the death of her son, saying she is trying to stay strong for her other child, a 9-month old boy. Avina-Casillas went on the run rather than face his charges. As far as whereabouts are concerned, although Mexico is a possibility, Avina-Casillas did construction work for cash when he lived in the Souek home in Columbus, and does have family in the area. But wherever he is, if you know the whereabouts of Roberto Avina-Casillas, you've got to call Crime Stoppers immediately and get this alleged child killer off the streets. stopcrime.org/roberto-avina-casillas-homicide/www.10tv.com/content/sections/video/index.html?video=/videos/2013/09/07/toddler-homicide-charges.xmlwww.dispatch.com/content/stories/public/2013/09/07/boyfriend-charged-in-homicide.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peritonitiswww.myfox28columbus.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/wall-justice-roberto-avinacasillas-34229.shtml#.VGjjivnF-Sowww.nbc4i.com/story/23366544/childs-death-rule-homicideAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

Thoughts? Obviously, we deal with a lot of terrible crimes on this forum, and it's only natural to be outraged by a lot of them. But If I were to state outrage at EVERY single case on here, it would look disingenuous. Not because of not caring, but while all crimes have tragic elements, some hit home more than others. And this is a case where I am legitimately outraged. And where I am not lying when I say it brought me to tears. If the charges are true, what the heck is wrong with this guy? Who takes their anger out on a 3-year old child. Although Alonzo's had wounds before, these new ones come right after an argument with his mother? I don't know if Roberto thought Alonzo was a punching bag to vent his frustrations or he hit him to get even with the mother or what, but this in my opinion is so much worse than other child deaths we've seen on AMW or other shows that was the result of neglect. This beating was allegedly intentional. Roberto Avina-Casillas is now my number #1 fugitive of the second half of 2014 (in fairness, Gilberto Juarez-Hernandez would have been had I counted AMW fugitives we gave new profiles to this year but that's really not important in the grand scheme of things), and in my opinion the perfect last exclusive for this second half. (sans breaking news cases). Please take a good look at Avina-Casillas's face and the pictures of his tattoos on the stopcrime.org link and bring this alleged monster to justice. RIP Alonzo.

All I need to do to describe Roberto Avina-Casillas is to refer to him as a cold-blooded, heartless monster who would kill a child after arguing with that child's mother. If his family knows of his whereabouts, then I would only have respect for them if they would turn him in.

I'm also pretty shocked I came across this case just from location crime research. I can't believe there hasn't been more publicity on it. I would have never knew about it had I not started digging for more new cases on here.

I don't have any updates at the moment unfortunately, just wanted to mention that Avina-Casillas, one of my personal dirty dozen most wanted fugitives, was 19 years old at the time he allegedly killed Alonzo, which would make him 24 years old as of this posting date. (12/17/2017).
As far as I can tell, he is unfortunately still at large as of the aforementioned posting date as well.

While Avina-Casillas would seem to still be at large as of this update (October 14th, 2019) based on his still being on Crime Stoppers I found the Franklin County court cases as well. Oddly one result shows a case dismissed but then reopened on November 13th, 2014, while the first and newer result shows there is still a warrant alert from December 7th, 2014. One has "CA" next to degree of offense and the other has "F". So this is I stress an educated guess and not proven fact but I feel that it is a decent educated guess that the case was probably a potential death penalty case and was dismissed into a "regular" felony murder case. I've been on the record stating I'm *usually* against the death penalty because I don't want to see anyone innocent put to death but I would have gladly made an exception for this guy had he been convicted. With that being said, I would also be happy to see him rot for the rest of his life in a padded cell as well. www.fcmcclerk.com/case/search/results

I couldn't find a PACER (federal warrant) when I searched but sometimes it is hard finding fugitives with multiple last names.

I found a different Franklin County Court Records website in Ohio that lists the 2017 filed murder case. The offense date is listed as in 2013 so I know that this is regarding the homicide of Alonzo Souek. As of today, December 25, 2022, the court docket lists Roberto as having "warrant &or capias". This unfortunately confirms he is still a fugitive. fcdcfcjs.co.franklin.oh.us/CaseInformationOnline/
