MORGAN COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia sheriff’s department said they’re searching for a man who ran off from deputies and left his baby and the baby’s mother inside of a wrecked car.
The Morgan County sheriff’s office posted that 26-year-old Chadwick Taylor Armistead drove off from a safety checkpoint on Aug. 28 and crashed his car into a ditch while trying to get away from deputies.
Armistead’s car overturned and deputies said he quickly left the scene leaving his 8-month-old hanging upside down in a car seat and the infant’s mother with injuries to her face.
Armistead is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 140 lbs.
Authorities said he has ties to the Bostwick and Buckhead areas of Morgan County, as well as the Athens area. Armistead has numerous felony warrants through the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Thoughts? Based on the above article's posting date, Armistead was still at large at least as of September 3rd, 2021. Additionally, as of our website posting date (9/4/2021), there is still a posting on the Morgan County Sheriff's Office Facebook page asking for information on Armistead's whereabouts that is yet to be edited or updated with any news of a capture.
