From wrdw.com:
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person is dead after a shooting Monday morning at a Waffle House in Augusta, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said the report came in shortly before 2 a.m. at 1629 Gordon Highway.
The shooting victim was found unresponsive in the parking lot, according to deputies.
Coroner Mark Bowen said the victim was shot at least once and was taken to Augusta University Medical Center, but was pronounced dead just after 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The victim was identified as 32 year old Nicklaus Wilson, of Augusta.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
The suspect was identified as Andrew Deon Gaines, who was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities also released a photo of him.
After the shooting, Gaines stole a silver 2018 Kia Sportage and fled in it , according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. The car did not belong to the shooting victim.
Deputies said around 1:45 p.m. that the vehicle had been found but Gaines was still at large.
Gaines is considered to be armed and dangerous. He has active warrants with the sheriff’s agency.
Anyone who comes in contact with Gaines or has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Sgt. Chris Langford or any on-call Investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1083 or 706-821-1020.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Gaines is still at large as of today's posting date (April 3rd, 2021), since there is still a photo of him as wanted on the Richmond County Georgia Sheriff's Office's Facebook page. However, if that status has changed and/or changes in the future, anyone is more than welcome to email our website contact form and let us know. Even at 2:30 in the morning this was a public venue and while it doesn't make up for Nicklaus Wilson's death and his loved ones affected by his homicide, it's a miracle no one else- including restaurant workers- were killed.
