Hey Robbie, welcome back! I honestly have no idea why you had trouble getting back on here but glad to see regardless! I think this trial also points out, despite the obvious flaws and dysfunctions in the American justice system, it is still far better than many other countries. I think if Mr. Pistorious had a jury of 12 peers, there's no way 12 people would buy this defense. All he had to do was convince one judge who in my opinion made a terrible ruling. But as O.J. proved, karma always catches up with these guys in the long run.

Prosecutors in South Africa have decided to appeal Oscar Pistorious's not guilty verdict and 5-year sentence on a lesser charge. As a resident of a country where that violates our laws of double jeopardy, I'm usually not a fan of appealing not guilty verdicts no matter how much I disagree with them. But I believe this is different since it wasn't a jury system but instead just one Judge. A Judge who in my opinion did not interpret the law correctly. Looking forward to a new trial with a new set of fake tears from Mr. Pistorius. www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/27/oscar-pistorius-appeal-prosecutors_n_6053660.html?utm_hp_ref=crime&ir=Crime

Pistorius verdict has been changed to MURDER. Thankfully. He still can appeal, but it will be hard. Pistorius faces at least 15 years in prison now. I still feel like unless he's sentenced for life, he's still not going to be punished harshly enough, but at least now this is being called for what it is- an obvious murder. Even the Judges said even if his story about not knowing who was behind the door was bought, it doesn't change the fact he knew death was a likely result of his shooting. www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-34993002

P.S. I realize the irony of mentioning O.J. since he's now a free man but the analogy still works since O.J. at least did get punished somewhat and imo will never truly be free for the rest of his miserable life.
