I getting sick and tired of these news stories of Mass Shootings in the news, Somebody do something by banned mental illness people from owing guns and banning these type of guns from stores, I don't to heard another tragedy story like this one even again in near future.

Senators have announced the framework for a bipartisan bill likely to pass which includes strengthening the allowance of red flag laws in states as well as more rigorous background checks.
In my opinion, the bill doesn't do enough, there is still no ban on assault rifles, however I am encouraged that at least SOMERHING looks like it will get done. Baby steps in the right direction at least.

The Brian D Widland case brought another element of the United States' gun casualty epidemic to mind. Many of the gun death statistics come from people leaving their guns in the open where a small child kills his- or herself or another small child, which has been talked about a lot in recent decades' news articles about gun culture and gun regulation.

I didn’t hear about the Uvalde, Texas shooting until just now, and honestly it choked me up, and that was a very disturbing situation.
Elementary age kids don’t comprehend those kind of things about how evil the world can truly be, as they obviously view the world from innocent point of view, and anyone who targets elementary age kids in the way the shooters in 2012 and 2022 did, I really hope they’re burning in hell because that’s right where they need to be.
Again those kids didn’t comprehend how evil life can be, and did nothing to the shooter, Middle school and high school kids I will make an argument that they start understanding how evil the world can be and are somewhat mentally prepared, but sadly you can’t be prepared for bullcrap like a mass shooting at school.
I’m of the belief that the shooters in both the 2012 and 2022 who targeted elementary schools were not mentally ill, rather they were just pure evil, the most disgusting, and most depraved pieces of crap to have ever lived.

I know I didn't say anything about Nashville yesterday but basically it's because I'm so f-ing done. I should have used common sense and realize Sandy Hook was unfortunately our last chance to pass sensible gun laws for the future and if even that couldn't get anything done- nothing would.
This has apparently just a custom in our society our politicians and the NRA are fine living with.

Can I propose we change the thread title to The Desensitived To Active Shooters In America Thread. I generally will agree with all the common-sense gun control proposals as long as we acknowledge it's not mass shootings in general that people are outraged about. What Gun Violence Archive deems to be a "mass shooting" (four or more shot and wounded/killed, excluding the gunman) usually does not get much media attention. People aren't really desensitived about four people shot and wounded at midnight in any major US city.
What people are outraged about is the actions of active shooters (people that go on a killing spree in any public place. ex. Schools, malls, concerts, etc.) As long as we clarify it's the active shooters that we are outraged about, then any previous issues I've had with gun control go away at that point. The US will never have the same gun control that we have up here in Canada, but the closer the US can get to other developed nations relating to gun control the better.

I will say anyone who takes a life in such a barbaric And savage way especially in any matter is reprehensible but it takes a special kind of depraved heartless sociopathic individual to target and go out and shoot up and kill multiple people including children whether it's at schools or shopping centers or anywhere even my town had to deal with a threat of one do to a swatting hoax however it was just one of many in the area I live in I actually passed by my school and it had a heavy police presence anyway I wanted to say anyone who commits a mass shooting deserves to rot in hell for eternity and my prayers are with the Georgia school shooting victims
