I was hoping to be able to make this thread sooner rather than later! Since everyone of course wants to know which fugitives from the airings of AMW, The Hunt, In Pursuit, etc... get captured we usually create capture directories of fugitives captured after airings.
America's Most Wanted had a capture counter when it was on the air, keeping track of all the fugitives it aired that wound up getting caught as a direct result of the show. (If the fugitive was not caught as a result of the show, they wouldn't be added to the capture counter, although their apprehensions were also great news). The capture counter would be mentioned at the beginning of each episode (they would say something along the lines of "to date, your tips have led to the arrest of x amount of fugitives") as well on their website, which was amw.com. Their last website total was 1204 captures before the website went offline.
The first successor to AMW, "The Hunt" would update when a fugitive was captured and mention when it was as a result of their airing. However, they did not have a capture counter like AMW to distinguish between direct and indirect results.
At the moment, it is unclear if In Pursuit will have a direct capture counter and/or keep track/distinguish when a fugitive is caught as a result of an airing, so for the time being, this thread will list every fugitive aired on the show that has now been captured, regardless of whether it was a direct result of the show or not. (We will of course, distinguish if it is definitely known to be a direct capture).
Ok we've seen me talk longwindedly enough so here is the listing so far of fugitives aired on the show that were later caught:
#1: Luis Octavio Frias
Wanted Location: Blackwell, Oklahoma. August 2013.
Capture Location: Jalisco, Mexico (suburban Guadalajara). February 6th, 2019.
Case Description: Luis Frias had already allegedly been verbally and physically abusive to his ex-wife, Janett Reyna, a former police officer for the city of Blackwell in Oklahoma. However, on August 8th, 2013, the violence escalated to a tragic conclusion when he allegedly stabbed Reyna 41 times in front of her young children after luring her to his apartment following their breaking up. One of those children who witnessed the attack, Reyna's 7-year-old daughter, called police, but it was too late and Reyna passed away after being taken away to a hospital. Frias wouldn't stick around to be questioned and soon fled, eventually making his way to the U.S. Marshals Top 15 most wanted list on November 9th, 2018.
Capture Description: John Walsh's new show, "In Pursuit", debuted on January 16th, 2019 on the Investigation Discovery (ID) channel. Frias was the first ever fugitive profiled on the show. Less than a week after the show became available to viewers in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, Frias would be arrested near Guadalajra in the Mexican state of Jalisco on February 6th, 2019. On February 7th, 2019, he was back in the United States at Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport after a return warrant was signed. Frias was reportedly arrested in the same handcuffs that were given to Janett Reyna when she joined the Blackwell Police Department. Frias' capture was said to be a direct result of a tip submitted to In Pursuit. He is expected to soon be back in Oklahoma to face first-degree murder charges. Frias is the first-ever fugitive to be captured as a direct result of an In Pursuit airing. (AKA Direct Capture #1).

#2: Lamont Stephenson
Wanted Location: Newark, New Jersey. October 2014.
Capture Location: Landover, Maryland. March 8th, 2019.
Case Description: Lamont Stephenson was wanted for the strangulation murder of his girlfriend Olga "Ivy" DeJesus and her dog in Newark, New Jersey back in October of 2014. Stephnson and DeJesus knew each other from high school, but friends of DeJesus were surprised when they later connected and got engaged after a high school reunion since the two seemed to have opposite personalities. (DeJesus was outgoing, while Stephenson was described as quiet and having no friends). Lamont Stephenson would be aired on both The Hunt with John Walsh's final season in 2017, and it's successor, In Pursuit with John Walsh (on the February 13th, 2019 episode of Season 1). In between those shows, Stephenson was added to the FBI's top ten list in October of 2018.
Capture Description: On early Thursday morning on March 7th, 2019, officers with the Prince George's County Police Department were conducting a suspicious vehicle investigation. The man inside the vehicle after some avoidance indicated his name was Lamont Stephenson and he "may be a wanted criminal." It was eventually determined that the man and the Lamont Stephenson from the FBI's top ten most wanted list were one and the same. Additionally, Stephenson was named as a suspect in the murder of a woman and her cat in Washington D.C. The murder happened the night before his capture. Stephenson expressed relief at his capture after the fact as he had been essentially homeless. At the moment, the capture of Stephenson does not appear to be a direct result of "In Pursuit with John Walsh" but rather excellent police work. Although it should be noted Stephenson is the first FBI top ten fugitive to be captured after airing on either America's Most Wanted-successor shows. (Some FBI Top 10 fugitives were captured before airing on "The Hunt with John Walsh")
#3: Robert Brumfield III
Wanted Location: New Orleans, Louisiana. (Alleged offense occurred in December 2013, warrant issued sometime in 2017)
Capture Location: Spring, Texas. (suburban Houston) March 18th, 2019.
Case Description: Robert E. Brumfield was wanted by the FBI for wanted for his alleged involvement in the December 18, 2013, Loomis armored car robbery and murder of Loomis employee Hector Trochez at the Chase Bank, located at 2331 S. Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. A warrant was not officially issued for Brumfield until sometime in 2018. He was aired as one the "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the February 13th, 2019 episode of "In Pursuit with John Walsh" (15 seconds of Shame, in which a fugitive or fugitives are briefly mentioned for 15 seconds in between the main segments of the program was a popular feature on "America's Most Wanted". Despite the short amount of time, many fugitives were caught off that segment).
Capture Description: On March 18th, 2019, Brumfield was arrested in the suburban Houston area by authorities with the Harris County Sheriff's Office after a private citizen tip. At the moment, the wording in articles is confusing as far as whether or not to give In Pursuit credit for Brumfield's capture. Although articles mentioned he was captured after airing, the tip seemingly did not come in via the show but rather to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, who did not mention In Pursuit in their Facebook postings about Brumfield's arrest. Still, it is arguable that perhaps the show helped reignite publicity/interest and perhaps that's the reason the tip was called in so our unofficial determination would be Brumfield is a gray area and/or "partial" direct capture. It should be noted, direct or indirect, Brumfield is the first 15 Seconds of Shame fugitive to be captured after airing on In Pursuit.
#4: Raymond Dean Holley
Wanted Location: Hapeville, Georgia. April 3rd, 2018.
Capture Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana. May 15th, 2019.
Case Description: Raymond Dean Holley had been wanted by Hapeville Georgia authorities since Easter Sunday of 2018. He was babysitting for his neighbor when he allegedly sexually assaulted her six-year-old daughter and also possibly the daughter's 3-year-old male cousin (there are conflicting reports as one article states he allegedly molested only the daughter while others state he allegedly molested both). Holley claimed he was moving to Montana, which authorities felt was a lie and that he could possibly still be hiding in the state of Georgia. Holley would be aired in the aforementioned "15 Seconds of Shame" segment of the March 13th, 2019 episode of In Pursuit.
Capture Description: Holley was tracked down to Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 15th, 2019. The capture seems to be not a direct result of In Pursuit but rather authorities and the U.S. Marshals tracking Holley down after he applied for an Indiana driver's license and also finding family of his in the state on social media. Holley, directly or indirectly, is the second 15 Seconds of Shamer from In Pursuit to be caught after his airing.
On November 5th, 2019, Holley passed away while in a Fulton County, Georgia jail. We currently do not know the cause of death other than he shows as deceased in Fulton County's online court records.
#5: Darrick Bell
Wanted Location: Detroit, Michigan. January 2017.
Capture Location: Monroe, Michigan. July 31st, 2019.
Case Description: On January 12, 2017, federal authorities conducted a raid at the Victory Inn motel In Detroit, Michigan. They rescued 14 women that were being held there as sex slaves. Only two of the rooms were allowed for legitimate customers, the rest were controlled by the pimps. According to authorities, cocaine, heroin and even human flesh were sold with assistance from the hotel staff. One of the alleged masterminds was a fugitive by the name Darrick Bell, who was also a convicted murderer.
Bell would go on the run, even making ICE's most wanted list, which listed his charges as human trafficking and narcotics.
Bell was aired on the March 20th, 2019 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh as a "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives.
Capture Description: Authorities finally found Bell at a motel in Monroe, Michigan on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019. A woman was arrested for allegedly harboring Bell. It does not appear Bell's capture was a direct result of In Pursuit since the show has at the time of this update not mentioned his capture on their social media.
#6: Salvador Vaca Garcia Jr.
Wanted Location: Colusa, California. January 2018.
Capture Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. Extradited in August 2019.
Case Description: Salvador Garcia Jr. was wanted for the alleged murder of 21-year-old Karen Garcia. Karen Garcia was Salvador's ex-girlfriend and the couple had a 2-year-old daughter together. Salvador Garcia Jr. went on local news segments when Karen was a missing person, playing the part of a teary-eyed and distraught boyfriend only to disappear and later be charged with Karen's murder after the discovery of her body. Garcia was aired on the February 6th, 2019 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh as the lead story/first case of the show.
Capture Description: Although when and how is currently not known, Garcia was extradited from Mexico in early August 2019. He was caught in Guadalajara in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Although it isn't explicitly stated Garcia was caught from a tip, it is our unofficial opinion that if In Pursuit had a "capture counter" like John Walsh's original show, America's Most Wanted, they probably would have taken credit for Garcia's capture, since they posted a "walk-of-shame" video on Facebook, which had only been done for Luis Frias so far. At the very least, the show helped in increasing the publicity to generate tips along with excellent work from local and international law enforcement.
#7: Jihad Ramadan
Wanted Location: Hampton, Virginia. July 2005.
Capture Location: Hampton Roads (Norfolk), Virginia. Setpember 11th, 2019.
Case Description: Jihad Amir Ramadan and Byron "BJ" Bryant were both college students at the University of Hampton in Virginia. According to an "In Pursuit" airing, Ramadan and his friends from New York had confrontations with B.J. and his friends from the south. It all came to a head one night at a fight in a bar near the university in the summer of 2005. According to reports, out of nowhere, Ramadan allegedly took out a knife and stabbed B.J. Bryant, leading to his tragic death. Ramadan would flee soon after the incident, with police suspicious that his parents in New York were helping him to hide.
Capture Description: Ramadan was profiled as the lead case/first story on the January 23rd episode of "In Pursuit with John Walsh" (which was also only the second-ever episode). Out of nowhere, Ramadan surrendered to Hampton Virginia authorities on September 11th, 2019. It is not clear at the moment where Ramadan has been hiding. It is also not clear whether Ramadan surrendered due to his airing, although it is our site's opinion that the pressure from the show as well as increased publicity had to have gotten to him. (In other words, logic would say In Pursuit played a part in getting him to surrender whether he admits or not).
#8: Martin Jarquin-Estrada
Wanted Location: New Orleans, Louisiana. February 19th, 2017.
Capture Location: Zacatecas, Mexico, October 15th, 2019. Officially extradited back to U.S. on October 16th, 2019.
Case Description: Martin Jose Jarquin Estrada was accused of stabbing Elkin Corrales to death on February 19th, 2017. Both men were Nicaraguan nationals from the same town and Jarquin-Estrada came to the U.S. with the help of Corrales's family. Jarquin-Estrada was reportedly upset after Corrales won a physical fight after an argument about who was the better fighter while the two men were drinking. Jarquin-Estrada quickly fled New Orleans and later the United States, according to authorities.
Capture Description: The U.S. marshals appeared to be closing in on Jarquin-Estrada in November of 2018, when they obtained a warrant to search the Facebook account of the mother of his child. Authorities said they believed Jarquin had been using his own, unknown Facebook account to communicate with the woman. On the January 30th, 2019 episode of "In Pursuit with John Walsh", Jarquin-Estrada was spotlighted as one of the two "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the show. Jarquin-Estrada was apprehended in the Mexican state of Zacatecas on October 15th, 2019, roughly nine months after his photo was aired. He was officially transferred to a Houston Texas jail, awaiting extradition to New Orleans, on October 16th, 2019.
Although at the moment the show does not have a "capture counter" like its' predecessor, America's Most Wanted, it appears the sho would have taken credit for Jarquin-Estrada's capture if they had one, as he is said to have fled to his captured location in Mexico as a result of the pressure from the publicity of the In Pursuit airing, according to an Investigation Discovery press release.
#9: Dominique Fowler
Wanted Location: Portsmouth, Virginia. November 27th, 2017.
Capture Location: Melrose Park, Illinois. December 29th, 2019.
Case Description: On November 27, 2017, Dominique Fowler and a male suspect in custody for this incident, allegedly went to a Portsmouth, Virginia home with intent to commit a robbery. Once inside, they're accused of dousing a woman inside with gasoline with the intent of setting the home on fire. A small child was in the home when this all happened.
Fowler was one of the two "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the February 20th, 2019 episode of Season 1 of In Pursuit.
Capture Description: On Saturday, December 29th, 2019, acting on a tip, U.S. Marshals located Fowler in a home in Melrose Park, Illinois, a town in suburban Chicago. She was arrested without incident and found to be utilizing an identity card belonging to another person.
#10: Daniel Jensen
Wanted/Last Seen Location: Delta Junction, Alaska. April 2015. (Was also wanted in Wisconsin)
Capture Location: Delta Junction area, Alaska. June 7th, 2020. (Killed upon capture)
Case Description: Both Jensen and his wife, Diane Jensen, were indicted on sex abuse charges in October 2013. Charges against them allege that in 2002, while visiting relatives in the town of Toomah in Wisconsin, they allegedly lured a 12-year-old girl with an invitation to try on a prom dress. Daniel Jensen allegedly also sexually abused the girl at his and Diane's home outside Delta Junction in Alaska and on trips to Delta Junction and Anchorage. Diane Jensen also is said to have inappropriately touched the girl and in January of 2015 she pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit sexual abuse of a minor. (Us here at amwfans.com could not find her sentence).
Jensen was scheduled to go to trial in May of 2015 and was under a court order to remain with a third-party custodian. However, in April of 2015, Alaska state troopers would receive reports that he had run away from that custodian. He had not been seen since.
Jensen would be aired as one of the two "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the February 27th, 2019 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh.
Capture Description: On Tuesday, January 7th, 2019, Jensen was shot and killed by law enforcement officials and agents including some involved with the U.S. Marshals in the Delta Junction area of Alaska, after attempts were made to make contact with him. According to later reports, officers were approaching a home Jensen was hiding when they saw him going for a high-powered long gun, thus causing the officers to open fire and take out the threat.
#11: Jacob Scott
Wanted Location: Jackson County, Mississippi. August 2018. (Last Seen in Orange Beach, Alabama)
Capture Location: Antlers, Oklahoma. January 29th, 2020.
Case Description: In July of 2018, Jacob Scott was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Mississippi. Authorities would later find an abandoned dinghy (boat) floating in the ocean in Orange Beach, Alabama, with a gun tied to the boat along with a suicide note. Authorities didn't buy it, and believed Scott faked his own death. In August of 2018, Jackson County (Mississippi) authorities issued a warrant for Scott's arrest.
On Wednesday, January 29th, 2020, Scott was added to the U.S. Marshals Top 15 Most Wanted list. This coincided with Scott airing as of one of In Pursuit's "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives later in the night. The airing mentioned the alleged victim as Scott's stepdaughter and that he also impregnated her.
Capture Description: Surprisingly, a hot tip was coming in before In Pursuit could even show Scott's photo to their viewers. In just under 2 hours after the show ended in the Central Time Zone, Scott was located at an RV park in the town of Antlers, Oklahoma. He initially claimed his name was Luke before admitting his true identity. U.S. Marshals stated Scott was the quickest capture in the 37-year-history of their Top 15 list. Scott is also the quickest capture thus far after an In Pursuit airing. U.S. Marshals gave credit to the media blitz for flushing Scott out of hiding.
#12: Leroy Headley
Wanted Location: South Burlington, Vermont. May 4th, 2018.
Capture Location: Negril, Jamaica. February 2nd, 2020.
Case Description: On May 3, 2018, Headley allegedly shot and killed Anako Lumumba, 33, in their home in South Burlington, Vermont. One of Headley’s family members contacted police, reporting a call from the suspect about the alleged murder. When authorities arrived at the residence, they found Lumumba dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. On May 4, the South Burlington Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Headley for the crime of murder. It was believed he was possibly headed to Jamaica.
Capture Description: On November 18th, 2019, Headley was added to the U.S. Marshals Top 15 Most Wanted list. On January 15th, 2020, Headley was the first fugitive to be featured on the premiere episode for Season 2 of In Pursuit with John Walsh. Meanwhile, U.S. Marshals worked various investigative angles, to include exploring Headley’s ties to Jamaica. Those ties were analyzed further by investigators in the U.S. Marshals Service Jamaica Foreign Field Office with the help of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team. Investigators developed information that led them to believe Headley was in the Westmoreland Parish of Jamaica, specifically in the town of Negril.
On Sunday, Feb. 2, shortly after 7 p.m., Jamaican authorities spotted Headley in Negril driving a vehicle that was previously identified during the course of the fugitive investigation. Authorities stopped the vehicle and took Headley into custody without incident.
#13: William Troy Stanson
Wanted Location: Berrien County, Michigan. Circa July/August 2015.
Capture Location: Baja California, Mexico (Northwestern Mexico). February 4th, 2020.
Case Description: According to the ID crimefeed website for In Pursuit, The case involving William Stanson began in 2014 when investigators say a group of teenage girls came forward to police. The victims claimed they were assaulted at their friend’s Halloween sleepover by William Stanson, their friend's father. Stanson pleaded guilty to accosting a minor for immoral purposes and was required to register as a sex offender. Just one year later, in 2015, investigators say Stanson’s own daughter Kayla finally broke her own silence about her father. Kayla had the courage to come forward to say Stanson had been molesting her since 2005. Kayla never spoke up because she wanted to protect her little sister from her father's abuse. Kayla also revealed to authorities that at the age of 16 she became pregnant with Stanson's child. Kayla says she was forced to drive across state lines with Stanson to get an abortion. Authorities say Stanson was interviewed about his daughter's claims and admitted to the relationship he forged with Kayla, but claimed it was consensual and not molestation. Michigan State Police worked quickly to secure a warrant, but before they could do so, Stanson vanished.
Capture Description: The manhunt for Stanson was profiled on the January 29th, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh. Soon a viewer watching the west coast rerun of the episode called the show's hotline with a crucial tip placing Stanson in Mexico. When authorities learned of his whereabouts, the St. Joseph (Michigan) FBI office obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution warrant and requested assistance from their Mexico law enforcement partners in Baja California, located in northwestern Mexico where they arrested Stanson. Stanson will be brought to Berrien County, Michigan, where he is expected to face charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, and failure to appear for sentencing on the original charge of accosting a minor.
#14: Erik DeSean "Eskii" Addison
Wanted Location: North Versailles, Pennsylvania. October 2019.
Capture Location: Mt. Oliver, Pennsylvania. March 11th, 2020.
Case Description: Erik DeSean Addison, 24, had een on the run since late October 2019 when he allegedly opened fire on a vehicle on Route 30 (In Allegheny County, Pennsylvania), killing Richard Littlejohn Jr.
Littlejohn was driving home after leaving a gender-reveal party when police said Addison and another man followed Littlejohn from the party in another car. Police said Addison opened fire, causing Littlejohn’s car to crash into the other vehicle. A 10-year-old and 1-year-old were in the backseat of Littlejohn’s car.
The crash injured 10 people and shut down Route 30 for hours.
Capture Description: Addison was aired as a "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitive on the February 19th, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh. On March 11th, 2020, authorities found Addison hiding in relative plain sight at his girlfriend's house in Mt Oliver, Pennsylvania (also in Allegheny County). Addison was said to be hiding behind a wall in the attic of the house.
#15: Frederick Alan McCaskill
Wanted Location: Austin, Texas. November 2018.
Capture Location: Atlanta, Georgia. March 30th, 2020.
Case Description: On October 8, 2018 police in Austin, TX found Mary Ramos in a horrific state. Ramos was beaten, bleeding and left in front of an apartment. Once she was transported to the hospital, doctors discovered two separate bleeds on her brain combined with multiple facial fractures. She was forced to use a feeding tube and had to have many surgeries to repair the damage.
Investigators soon learned the person allegedly responsible was Frederick Alan McCaskill. Authorities say Mary was attempting to end the relationship with McCaskill and it almost turned deadly. In November 2018, only one month after the incident, McCaskill confessed to his role in the crime. But before a formal case could be brought forward, McCaskill took off and had not been seen since.
Capture Description: The manhunt for McCaskill was aired on the March 11th, 2020 episode of "In Pursuit with John Walsh." The case was unique in that it was one of the rare times Callahan Walsh had interviewed a victim who actually survived a violent attack. A tipster watching the airing had direct information about where McCaskill could be and called 833-3-PURSUE (the show's hotline number) directly with details. The tipster's information was collected and turned directly over to the US Marshals and they dispatched the Southwest Regional Fugitive Taskforce in Atlanta, Georgia. The team worked the information over the course of a few days and on March 30, 2020 were able to make the arrest.
#16: Jeffrey Winston Forrest
Wanted Location: Amarillo, Texas. August 29th, 2016.
Capture Location: Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. May 9th, 2020.
Case Description: In 2015, charges were filed against Jeffrey Forrest when four victims came forward and accused him of sexually assaulting them. The victims stated Forrest repeatedly assaulted them from the ages of 8 to 15. Investigators believe he used his position as a youth minister at several different churches to gain access and groom his victims. On April 2, 2015, Forrest was arrested on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Following his arrest, Forrest was released on bond and a trial date was set for Aug. 29, 2016. Unfortunately, he failed to appear for his trial, and after an investigation into his disappearance, authorities determined he never intended to. In Pursuit's profile page on Forrest lists his alleged acts as having started in 1993.
Capture Description: The manhunt for Jeff Forrest was aired on the Season 2 debut episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh on January 15th, 2020. After the show increased publicity, the U.S. Marshals intensified the manhunt even more, adding Forrest to their Top 15 Most Wanted list on April 8th, 2020. On May 9th, 2020, Forrest was captured by U.S. Marhsals in Zapopan, a city next to Guadalajara in the central Mexican state of Jalisco. The capture happened weeks after Forrest was spotted shopping at a Walmart in Zapopan. The tipster who sent in several photos from their phone even caught Forrest's "Star Wars Rebel Alliance" tattoo on his right ankle. The U.S. Marshals Serivce, in news articles, stated Forrest’s capture is a "direct result of information that was developed from a tip that was provided to “In Pursuit with John Walsh” on Investigation Discovery after the show profiled the case."
Forrest was deported back to Texas immediately after his capture and is expected to eventually go on trial on his alleged charges.
#17: Steven Maurice Todd
Wanted Location: Hammond, Indiana. November 24th, 2019.
Capture Location: Yuba City, California. June 9th, 2020.
Case Description: On Nov. 24, 2019 Steven Todd allegedly shot 26-year-old Katelyn Golden in the neck following a fight outside of Coach’s Corner bar at 6208 Kennedy Ave. in Hammond. Todd was accused of shooting Golden while seated inside a vehicle driven by Kyum Gillis, 32, of East Chicago, as she yelled at him for bumping into her, according to court records.
Capture Description: Todd was aired as one of the two "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the April 1st, 2020 season finale of In Pursuit with John Walsh. The airing helped generate leads that would eventually lead to Todd's arrest in Yuba City, California on June 9th, 2020. Todd provided false identification when authorities arrested him but he was correctly identified through his fingerprints and tattoos.
#18: Daniel Drvell Cook
Wanted Location: Detroit, Michigan. July 28th, 2019.
Capture Location: Battle Creek, Michigan. June 23rd, 2020.
Case Description: Daniel Cook was wanted in the hit-and-run death of Herman "Rocky" Walters, II, on July 28, 2019.
Investigators say Cook, then 34, was speeding on the Southfield Freeway Service Drive near I-96 in Detroit when he rear-ended Walters' orange Harley Road Glide motorcycle. The 31-year-old Walters died at the scene. Cook took off after the crash.
Capture Description: Daniel Cook was aired as a "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives on the March 4th, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh. Eventually, a show viewer contacted Crime Stoppers with information on Cook's whereabouts. On June 23rd, 2020, U.S. Marshals tracked Cook down to Battle Creek, Michigan and arrested him. Cook has now been charged with second degree murder.
#19: Walter Morales Jr.
Wanted Location: Lompoc, California. September 8th, 2019.
Capture Location: Santa Maria, California. July 17th, 2020.
Case Description:
On September 8, 2019 at 2 am in the morning, 22-year old Marlon Brumfield had returned to his hometown of Lompoc, California. He had just came back from Germany while in the US military. Authorities allege that Walter Morales Jr. and Francisco Gutierrez-Ortega shot and killed Marlon. In articles, police stated they believed the shooting death of a 22-year-old soldier was a random attack and Marlon Brumfield had no previous interaction with Morales or Gutierrez-Ortega. Gutierrez-Ortega turned himself in soon after the crime, but Walter Morales Jr. would go on the run.
Capture Description:
Morales was profiled on the March 18th, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh as one of the two weekly "15 Seconds of Shame" fugitives. However, his alleged criminal activity would not stop. Morales became a suspect in multiple drive-by shootings in Lompoc on July 11th, 2020. On July 17th, 2020, Morales Jr. was finaly arrested in Santa Maria, California after a standoff with police.
#20: James Meece:
Wanted Location: Various state and federal locations/offices in state of Michigan. (Overall on the run state and/or federally since 1999, U.S. Marshals case since 2011)
Capture Location: El Centro, California. July 29th, 2020.
Case Description: From the U.S. Marshals website press release: James Meece, 71, was convicted in 1991 of criminal sexual conduct in the 2nd degree in Michigan and sentenced to a term of three to 15 years in prison. He had sexually assaulted the daughters, 9 and 12, of a woman he was dating at the time and threatened to kill them and their mother if they revealed the abuse. As a result of his conviction Meece was deemed a Tier 3 sex offender by the state of Michigan and required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He was paroled in May 1999, but by November 1999 he had absconded, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
In September 2000 the Michigan State Police obtained a warrant for Meece for failure to register as a sex offender. In 2011 the USMS Eastern District of Michigan Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team adopted the case. In late 2017 the case transferred to the USMS Investigative Operations Division’s Sex Offender Investigation Branch, and in August 2019 a warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was obtained for Meece in the Eastern District of Michigan.
Capture Description: James Meece was aired on the March 4th, 2020 episode of "In Pursuit." The following is an excerpt the press release about the events prior and after the show's airing that led to his capture from the U.S. Marshals press release:
In 2018 investigators obtained information about Meece that tied him to a woman in El Monte, California. Subsequent investigation of that woman determined she had married Meece in Las Vegas, Nevada, in July 2001. Subsequent investigation revealed Meece and the woman had gone to great lengths to keep the marriage concealed. Beginning in late summer 2018 investigators discovered numerous indicators that the woman was still in contact with Meece and revealed several things she had done on his behalf, using different aliases for him.
In January 2019 investigators contacted the woman, who denied knowing Meece. Numerous interviews of the woman's neighbors and family revealed they knew her to have been married to a man named Anthony Bennetti, they had not seen Bennetti since approximately 2004, and the woman had lived alone since Bennetti left her. The woman's family and neighbors provided a physical description of Bennetti that was very similar to Meece and provided stories of claims by Bennetti that were similar to claims made by Meece, who had falsely passed himself off as a U.S. Army Green Beret, a Vietnam veteran, a prisoner of war, a CIA agent, an FBI agent, a U.S. Marshal, and member of other law enforcement agencies to gain the trust of women he later raped and defrauded or whose children he sexually assaulted.
Throughout 2019, investigators continued to observe the woman and by the spring of 2020, had obtained a warrant from the USAO in Central California to search her home, but its execution was delayed due to COVID-19.
In July 2020 SOIB investigators obtained a search warrant for the woman's home in the U.S. District Court for Central California. On July 29, USMS investigators, assisted by the El Monte Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s EOD Unit, and the Los Angeles FBI EOD Unit, executed the search warrant for the woman’s home where they located and arrested Meece without incident. Upon execution of the search warrant numerous items were located and recovered, including a sniper rifle and various fraudulent identity documents Meece had used during his time as a fugitive.
#21: Jory Worthen
Wanted Location: Camden, Arkansas. June 2019.
Capture Location: Burbank, California. October 2020.
Case Description: From U.S. Marshals press release (slightly edited): On June 23, 2019, Jory Worthen allegedly murdered Alyssa Cannon, 20, and her 4-year-old son, Braydon Ponder, in their home located at 1338 Ronald Drive, Camden, Arkansas. Worthen was living at the residence at the time of the murders. Their bodies were discovered two days later. Authorities found Worthen’s pick-up truck at the residence, but the victim’s white 2007 Honda Accord was missing. The vehicle was later found July 22, 2019, in Seattle, Washington, in a Burger King parking lot.
The Camden Police Department charged Worthen with two counts of capital murder, and the U.S. Marshals, who have been assisting local authorities with the case since June 2019, obtained a federal warrant for Worthen in February 2020.
Capture Description: Worthen was aired on the January 22nd, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh. On July 22nd, 2020, Worthen was added to the U.S Marshals Top 15 Most Wanted list. Through the course of their investigation, the Marshals were eventually led to a hotel in Burbank, California. There was a dramatic pursuit that included Worthen climbing on top of the roof of some buildings but he was eventually apprehended after a brief foot chase on October 5th, 2020, in Burbank.
The Police Chief for Camden says he believes In Pursuit aided in Worthen's capture considering the show generated numerous tips on him.
#22: Carnell Spencer Lee Jr.
Wanted Location: Hollywood, Florida. July 2019.
Capture Location: Hollywood, Florida. November 2020.
Case Description: Carnell Spencer Lee Jr. was wanted for the July 2019 murder of his girlfriend, Coretta Bain, a 31-year-old postal worker and mother of three children, in Hollywood, Florida. Lee was profiled on the March 18th, 2020 episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh. The airing was unique because it involved Callahan Walsh investigating a murder in the city that involved his father's tragedy (the death of John's son Adam) that began his advocacy for victim's rights that would lead to his hosting America's Most Wanted.
Capture Description: In November 2020, Lee turned himself in to the Hollywood Police Department to turn himself in. Authorities say Lee made this decision because of the pressure his family was receiving because he was on the run. Hopefully if Lee is proven guilty in a court of law, justice will come for Coretta Bain just like justice came for Adam Walsh. Hopefully the wait for justice will not be much longer and will not take 27 years if that if the case.
