Thoughts? Please read the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) article as it goes into more detail. In 2016, Atlanta P.D. named Justine Wimberley as a person of interest in Mattie's case.
According to a press conference from Detectice Vince Velasquez (an interesting side note, Velasquez is one of the detectives on the Atlanta episodes of A&E's "The First 48"), Wimberley was a con artist who had a history of scamming elderly females and would often get into their homes by pretending to be from social services or Meals on Wheels or similar services.
Someone stole checks that belonged to Mattie Jackson and even passed a stolen check before her body was found.
I unfortunately do not have an image of Wimberley I was able to find but they briefly show Wimberley's photo in a video in the AJC link. I do not know if Wimberley is still considered a person of interest, only that in the linked video story she denied any involvement.
