(Above photo credits: fbi.gov) Jesus Favela-Astorga (Pictured left: STILL AT LARGE)) and Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes (NOW CAPTURED 4/12/2017) are the last two fugitives wanted by the FBI in connection with the murder of a US Border Patrol Agent. Note: I had to shorten the subject title spaces since the word character amount wouldn't allow me to space out the words in the thread title. Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes and Jesus Favela-Astorga were members of a group that ripped off drug smugglers on the US side of the US/Mexico border. The group would then hand the drugs to other individuals and hide their firearms in the desert. On Dec 12, 2010, Rito Osorio-Arellanes was arrested by border patrol agents while the other five members of the group managed to escape. Two days later on Dec 14, the ripoff crew members were walking outside of Nogales, Arizona when they encountered border patrol agents again. Two agents ordered the men to the ground and the ripoff crew opened fire, some with rifles killing border patrol agent Brian Terry. The agents returned fire, wounding Manuel Osorio-Arellanes. The ripoff crew then fled, except for Manuel who was arrested. An investigation was launched and arrest warrants were issued in 2012 for Jesus, Heraclio, Ivan Soto-Barraza and Lionel Portillo-Meza. Lionel was arrested in Mexico in September 2012. Ivan was arrested in Sinaloa, Mexico in September 2013. Manuel Osorio-Arellanes was sentenced to 30 years in February 2014. The case gets more complex when it was revealed when two of the weapons found at the scene of Brian Terry's murder were linked to the ATF's Fast and Furious gun smuggling operation, which allowed Mexican Drug Cartels to gain firearms in an attempt to track who purchased the guns. The problem with the operation was that authorities lost track of 1400 out of the 2000 guns. ---- Thoughts? Jesus Favela-Astorga and Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes are still wanted in Brian Terry's murder. The FBI is offering a $250,000 reward for either of the two fugitives. I feel they're probably still in Mexico, and continue to be involved with drug activity. UPDATE: Since the original posting above, both suspects have been captured in Mexico and are awaiting extradition back to the United States.www.fbi.gov/wanted/murders/jesus-rosario-favela-astorga/viewwww.fbi.gov/wanted/murders/heraclio-osorio-arellanes/viewwww.fronterasdesk.org/content/new-details-emerge-hunt-brian-terrys-killerswww.examiner.com/article/arrest-of-terry-murder-suspect-raises-weapon-questions-and-morewww.foxnews.com/us/2014/02/11/as-first-defendant-in-brian-terry-murder-is-sentenced-fast-and-furious/

I believe I remember this case or at least a border patrol agent being killed but wasn't aware of these two fugitives sought along with it.
I agree they are likely still in Mexico.

Well the bounty is huge in this case, for both fugitives it's a big $500,000 combined reward and that's quite a lot of bones if you ask me I thought only a wanted terrorist like Daniel San Diego would see that reward in all honesty.
I actually would consider these guys wild cards for the list, with 1 of them being added to the FBI Ten Most wanted list since they could shake the list up in terms of their crime they are accused of committing and their reward, but the negative thing I see is that it may be a very politicized issue of course.
Also my curiousity is the reward once one of them is placed? I know they both stand at $250,000 each, but what if one becomes a top ten fugitive?

I know this is late but thank goodness they have 1 of them in custody.
However the reports say Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga hasn't been apprehended, I find it weird he's already been removed from the FBI website.

If you google his name there's some sort of PDF profile from the "Uniform Crime Reporting" part of the FBI but I don't see him on the physical website itself. Articles I read says he remains at large and believed to be in Mexico so perhaps it's yet another case of it's believed where is isn't entirely a mystery and it's a matter of extradition from Mexico.

I hoped they added that pig to the FBI's Top Ten List, He don't deserved to be around in society and in the streets. considering that now he is the lone suspect at large, its a possibility.

Just wanted to mention in the event Favela-Astorga actually makes the top 10 list, no one has to wait for me or HeadMarshal to move this thread as I think we'd have to make an entirely new thread and delete this one to avoid confusion. (Usually Iprefer that we wait for us to move threads for fugitives already on our site that are added to the list but this case would be a rare exception.) So if no one else is online feel free to start a new thread. Obviously there's like 50 other people who could make the list if not more but you never know.

I think I may guess why the FBI removed Favela-Astorga from their website. They probably need to redo the poster and update it and possibly they may add him as the 515th fugitive to the top ten list in order to flush the final suspect in this case, plus his accomplice was captured the day Walter Yovany Gomez was added, so it likely gave the FBI some time to think this through. Honestly We'll never know until the 515th fugitive is named.

I'm done with the predicting business (Maybe every January I'll do a top 5-10 prediction list but besides that.) The FBI removes fugitives for all sorts of reasons even if not captured.
