Details of Disappearance
Amira disappeared from the New York borough of Manhattan on August 5, 2000. She was abducted by her non-custodial father, Muhammad Farooq Butt. A felony warrant was issued for him on August 18, 2000.
A photo of Butt is posted with this case summary. His date of birth is December 18, 1971, making him 28 years old at the time of Amira's abduction. He's described as Asian, of Pakistani descent, 6'0 and 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Butt has a mole on his chin and may also have a goatee. He may use the alias Frank Mubarak. Some agencies spell his name "Muhammed."
Amira and Butt may have left the country and may now be in Canada or Pakistan. Bayonne, New Jersey police are investigating Amira's abduction.

Thoughts? For anyone confused as to why there are two states in the thread title, it's because even though Amira is said to hve disappeared from Manhattan, it is Bayonne NJ police that are investigating her disappearance.
