(Above photo credit: Northern California Most Wanted website) Fugitive Information as of August 18th, 2014 (Based on Northern California Most Wanted website, news articles): Race: Hispanic Gender: Male Height: 5'6" Weight: 130 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Age: 38 Who to call if you've seen him: Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Tip Line at 831-454-2847. Miguel Loza has been wanted by Santa Cruz County authorities for over a decade. He is among the fugitives featured on the Northern California Most Wanted website, created by law enforcement agencies to publicize fugitives wanted out of Northern California. In February 2003, authorities say Loza stabbed 17-year old Jessica Sheridan in a vacant pre-school. After that he sexually assaulted another teenage girl with them and then urinated on Jessica as she was bleeding to death, she later died six months after lapsing into a coma. Loza fled to Mexico where in March 2004, he was arrested for robbing and stabbing a man. In September 2004 he was arrested again in Mexico for raping a 13-year old girl. Loza spent a total of six months in Mexican custody for the two crimes committed in Mexico. Mexico refused to extradite Loza to the United States at the time since Loza may have faced life imprisonment or the death penalty for his crimes. There have reportedly been unconfirmed sightings of Miguel Loza in the Santa Cruz, California area. Loza was born in Mexico. I've read that investigators believed that he may have returned to California after being released from his second prison sentence in Mexico. Despite that, Loza remains at large. Thoughts? Miguel Loza could be in Mexico or California. This is a very underrated fugitive and needs to finally be taken off the streets for good. www.fugitive.com/2009/05/12/miguel-loza-wanted-for-murder-and-sexual-assaults/northerncaliforniamostwanted.org/default.aspx?act=incidentmapgallerytop10detail.aspx&IMID=75&menugroup=NC%20Most%20Wanted%20Publicksco.com/local-news/2846www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_22083258/santa-cruz-countys-most-wanted-alonzo-loza-sloanAdmin Note: If you have any news-related updated information on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-form

What a horrible case. (I of course mean horrible by how bad the fugitive is).
I know I've said often AMW may not profile terrible fugitives if they feel the chances of catching them are slim, but seeing as he may be possibly in California, I am a bit surprised he was never aired for the last nine years they were on the air.

I checked the Santa Cruz County warrant search page and there is not currently an entry for Miguel Loza. He's also no longer on the Northern California Most Wanted site, not even listed in the captured section. I hope the warrants against him weren't dropped (if they were it may have been because of how uncooperative Mexico was in extraditing him).

Wasn't Northern California's Most Wanted the same site that briefly took Angela Zuniga off for some reason? Plus Loza is still on fugitive.com. I realize that's a news site but they are from what I've seen usually accurate. Not sure what's going on, try to stay patient and I'll try to see if I can find anything. I think it's best to just assume he's still wanted for now since nothing suggests otherwise.

I feel that regardless of what the status of his case is, if the family of Jessica Sheridan needs a site to comment about this on, they can use our site.

So now that Loza is our PE #1, might he be extradited if in Mexico if the death penalty is off the table? Keep in mind this is California, where there's a major backlog in the death penalty anyway. I hope a deal can be worked out. Send him back here and let him rot the rest of his life in prison instead.

From what I've read, Mexico may not want Miguel Loza to even receive a life imprisonment sentence, however I have to wonder if that would still apply. Edmundo Cerda-Anima was caught in his native Mexico and Louisiana sentenced him to life imprisonment. The problem may be getting the Mexican authorities to go after him, especially since there probably haven't been very many leads recently.

The back and forth with the Northern California Most Wanted website continues as Miguel Loza-Ramirez is once again removed from that site but still has warrants in the Santa Cruz County warrants search system.
Because of that I'd recommend calling the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office website tip line mentioned in articles instead of submitting a to that site (it is an excellent site and only because of the uncertainty that I recommend calling the Santa Cruz County tip line instead).

I was just wondering, how many times was Loza shown on "A.M.W." ?
Cause I have a huge memory of AMW fugitives but it's hard to remember some of them. What year(s) was he profiled on A.M.W. before it was canceled? Also I was just wondering, even though I don't remember Loza's case on A.M.W. (I read the case) why wasn't he added to the FBI's TOP 10 cause from what I read he would've been perfect for it.

Amazing news that Federal authorities in Mexico were finally able to get Miguel Loza in custody! Hopefully it will stay that way when he hopefully gets extradited to California. Miguel Loza was never aired on AMW, and I've read in the past that AMW actually declined to air a profile for him. Maybe it was because he had been let go before by Mexican authorities while on the run, and they felt it wouldn't make much of a difference by airing him.

If you see a current fugitive in "exclusive" sections or a captured fugitive in "non-tv show captures" it means they were never aired on AMW, The Hunt etc... (to the best of our knowledge). Our forum members nominated him for PE #1 and Dirty Dozen anyway because the crimes he allegedly committed were so heinous.
