Ok with the news that The Hunt with John Walsh has ended on CNN/HLN but there will be a new show with John Walsh called "In Pursuit" on the ID channel next year, I figure now would be a good time for us to make case suggestions (and perhaps politely inspire any powers that be should they come across this site!)
Obviously it was a bit easier for us to come up with case/fugitive suggestions for The Hunt once we figured out what the style was- an elongated/expanded profile as opposed to America's Most Wanted.
We currently have no idea what John Walsh's new show will look like but I figured we at least know the style of their production company Zero Point Zero- which uses innovative current flash motion photography, graphics etc... to come up with ideas. Also, I would recommend us not suggesting FBI top 10 or USMS top 15 cases since it's a given those cases are more likely than others to get a profile anyway. (Although perhaps some of our suggestions could be added to the list after the fact).
In any case, what fugitives/cases would you suggest? I'm making my suggestions just based on assuming it will be similar to The Hunt, but we shall see.
I may repeat myself on some but here I go:
Gerald "Mike" Bullinger- Can there be any more fitting case for the series premiere episode than my personal most wanted fugitive of 2017? Wanted out of Idaho for the summmer 2017 murders of his wife, girlfriend, and girlfriend's daughter. It's a delicate but tragic case and another channel might play up too much on the love triangle angle but I'm sure John Walsh/ZPZ will find a way to portray the victims respectfully. Lots of debate as to whether Bullinger is dead or alive, so there is a mystery/intrigue angle to make viewers interested. (Unfortunately, it has to be admitted that "entertainment" or keeping viewers attention is also a factor).
Harold "Butch" Knight- Another intriguing but tragic case it's not every day you see a 60-plus grandfatherly-looking man on the run for murder. Fled Michigan after allegedly murdering his wife and wound up in a remote cabin in Maine, possibly fleeing to Canada. Is a bit baffling that he is yet to be caught if still alive, and would be a good case to broadcast to a national potentially worldwide audience in the hopes of finding.
Ricardo Villanueva-Cordova- Wanted out of New Mexico for allegedly murdering his neighbor Michael S. Sanchez in a dispute over a barking dog. This is rather just a personal one for me since some of Michael's friends and family are friends of our forum, but I still wanted to include it to hopefully get justice for them. (This also of course goes for any case which involves friends of our forum).
Gloria Schulze- As many of us know, fled Arizona on vehicular homicide charges back in 1994. The Hunt did a good job with its' two drunk-driving homicide cases (Chris Ponce and O. Kevin Moradian- although the latter is unfortunately still at large). The new show gives In Pursuit the chance to do another such case without being repetitive since it will be a new show. And I feel this case those of us who were America's Most Wanted fans know quite well would be the perfect selection- first you have the tragic irony that the victim in the case was a young woman who started a "Students Against Drunk Driving" group. Then you have decent leads despite this being a cold case, including Schulze possibly working for a politician in 1994.
Daniel Brewster- Another Arizona and America's Most Wanted fugitive wanted since the 1990's. Ran a preschool and allegedly molested several children in the Tucson location. The Hunt helped catch a similar fugitive in Ty Yiyara (along with wife Tisa)
David Potter (fugitive)/Julia Potter (missing child)- David Potter is wanted for abducting his 7-year old daughter Julia from Washington state in 2014. One thing I learned about the ID channel is they have a ton of female viewership. The Hunt had success with it's child abduction fugitive cases- solving all three- and I figure this is a case that would be wise to profile since it may tug at the heartstrings of many mothers who will be watching. It's also a fairly recent case and in my opinion seems completely solvable if only it would get more publicity.
Raymond McLeod- Body builder wanted out of San Diego for the alleged murder of Krystal Mitchell. Krystal's mother used to be a detective and has already basically tracked down McLeod to Belize, where he is believed to still be hiding. Case was already aired on Crime Watch Daily, but another national broadcast may flush McLeod out for good.
Glen Holmes Jr.- One of the most baffling still at large fugitives from John Walsh's post-2000 yearly top 10 lists with America's Most Wanted. Allegedly murdered a man during a carjacking and then allegedly bizarrely robbed a drive-thru window demanding two tacos. Holmes seems pretty recognizable so perhaps another shot on another show may work out.
Jonathan Figueroa- Wanted out of Houston since 2015 for allegedly murdering his girlfriend Veronica Mercado and her 1-year old daughter, Linette Cano. Mercado was found still holding Linette when police discovered her body. This is a case that pissed me off so much I named Figueroa my #1 most wanted fugitive of 2015
Roberto Avina-Casillas- Another case that pisses me off and needs national attention. Avina-Casillas is wanted for allegedly beating 3 year-old Alonzo Souek to death. The alleged beating happened right after reports say was an argument with his mother.
Unknown Abigail Williams & Liberty German Killer- We all know this case. The Hunt did two missing child cases without an abductor (Jacob Wetterling- but there was a suspected abductor sketch, and Timmothy Pitzen- but we know his mother took him initially before committing suicide). However, they never did an unsolved murder case with no known fugitive. However, I feel this may be ZPZ's first ever such case since we have a voice recording and sketch so it's essentially the same as a fugitive with only a grainy photo. Not to mention, there is immense public pressure to solve Libby and Abby's case.
Obviously those are only some of my suggestions and unfortunately because so many people need a court of last resort I can go on and on with who "In Pursuit" should profile and I'm sure I'll continue to reply with more cases.
Now feel free to list your suggestions!
